This thread is getting more offensive the more I read. People slinging personal insult, use profanity, compared homosexuality to bestiality.

Isn't this just about every single homosexuality thread ever? If everyone posting was civilized, there'd be no need to have a thread.

The sad part is this thread is not even about homosexuality. People just want to argue for the sake of arguing. Honestly, I don't have any strength to even argue about this anymore, every single argument is the same. Telling people to stop just fall into deaf ear.

Both of these things are completely irrelevant to a gender check. Well, perhaps the first one could be considered related, but if a gender check is the only check there is then I don't see how the character is picky enough to feel picky.

All of the romanceable companions being pc sexual seems lazy to me, but the main issue i have with them are that they lack any sort of preferences of their own.(gender be damned at this point when given the devs stance on the subject)

Of course, they are pickier than this. Like I mentioned earlier, my first Hawke wouldn't have been able to romance Fenris because Fenris never managed to get any kind of romantic feelings going (he would not become fully friendship nor fully rivalry due to my Hawke's opinions and actions). This is irrelevant to said Hawke's gender, their personas simply weren't compatible.

That's some nice rping, but it doesn't change the fact that the flirt option was available to your pc regardless of how they looked or carried themselves up until that point.

Same way my fem Warden complete douchebag who had the werewolves eat the elves, saved the anvil of the void, killed Conner, used bloodmagic, sided with a slaver...could flirt with Alistair and marry him as long as his approval was high?

She also could look like she got ran over by a truck. This problem isn't something new to BW games.

Her having ovaries being the only restriction doesn't suddenly magically make him uber decisering and caring about my characters apperence and whatnot.

Hilariously I believe the only choice you can make that will end Alistair's romance automatically is insulting him. So slaughter innocents isn't a deal breaker long as you don't make fun of him after bed.

This thread needs to be killed with fire.

For so many reasons.

If there are moderators watching, I'd like to politely remind them that all attempts at making a "Cullen for possible DAIII Companion" thread have been locked. Whereas this topic has degenerated into trash that only exists to float around feeding forum rage. Kk thanks.

So you're saying that there shouldn't be any more attempts at making Cullen threads? Just trying to parse things.

I hope not, every single time a Cullen thread popped up, it was all about how crazy us Cullen fans are when we were usually not even the ones who made the thread.

Why can discussions having to do with Cullen never continue without the conversation devolving into whatever the hell this is? Seriously guys, do we need another "I don't liek teh bixeals becauz bla balh blah and they are bestialiators" or some other bs? This thread needs a good lockdown.

Cullen's die-hard (and notoriously civil) BSN fanbase has waited for a long time to have a space to discuss him on the DAIII forum. Instead we have.... this.

Imagine that you had reason to suspect that Merrill were making an appearance in DAIII, and instead of being allowed to create a topic to discuss her character and relevance to the plot, you got weird romance topics like this (no offense to the OP -- it's just that it has gotten weird) that devolved into discussing how supposedly immoral or out of character her bisexuality is (effectively offending or just plain needlessly annoying most of her fanbase in the process).

Pretty much that.

I suspect it's a combination of anti-bisexuality goblins and people who are still highly irritated over his dabbling in genocide.

The romances don't trigger if you don't have enough friend/rivalry to activate their Questioning Beliefs quests and the like, no? Unless I'm wrong, it wasn't just RPing on my part, I could've hit every flirt and not gotten anywhere =)

I really don't get this, myself. I'm pretty ambivalent toward Cullen so far since I don't feel like I "know him," so I'm not of the group myself. But I sure have never seen his fanbase act in any of the ways they're said to act on here. They're a group of nice people in my book - passionate and kinda crazy, but definitely nice.

Aaaand this why a lot of us choose to stick to the DA2 Cullen thread. I don't even know how this thread turned into... Whatever this is.

And this is why we can't have nice things.

Some bans handed out.
