Seems to be because she isn't super-nice towards Shepard, from a lot of what I've seen.
Personally I'm rather ambivalent towards her.

I find her boring and honestly she doesn't seem like the person i imagine would run a criminal organization... she seems..to petty.

Depends on my Shepard.
My original Shepard, the one I took into each game for the first time, was a pretty cutthroat, "win at all costs" renegade.
And as such, she warmed to Aria pretty quickly in ME2. And this is the Shepard I'll probably take into Omega, so I imagine they'll get alone quite well, as usual.

She's alright. I neither hate nor love her.

as i've said in other posts, i find her to be overwhelmingly arrogant and self-righteous. i actually liked her personality in the books more than her dialogue lines in the games. you see more of her sensitive side in the books (e.g., when her daughter dies), but in the games she just comes off as a one-dimensional, boring character that tries too hard to be a badass and instead comes off as a b****.

I dislike how she's a pointless Carrie-Anne Moss cameo.

Don't like her but not exactly eager to betray her since she has generally been more helpful than the Council was.

She is rude, controlling, possessive, and manipulative. Whats to like?

She's a criminal who assumes that Shepard will put up with her being a criminal just because she's being helpful to Shepard personally. And there is no opportunity to prove her wrong.
Also, nobody tells me whom I can and cannot **** with.

She's smug and Shepard let's her indulge in her smugness. If I had an option to tell her off, I'd like her a bit more. It seems to me that he gives her too much undue respect.

I've always found her to be a boring, shallow, arrogant, and frankly rather petty stereotypical "femme fatale". That wouldn't be so bad if that wasn't all there was to her. None of the characters in the series are particularly deep, but Aria just doesn't have a lot going for her; considering she's someone we're supposed to side with, she just doesn't seem to have anything that humanises her, nothing that would make me want to take her side. I don't hate her, but I don't see what all the fuss is about with her; she doesn't deserve any respect, in my eyes.

She's another case of the rather famous voice actors earning popularity for the characters while the characters themselves don't have any remarkable qualities. In my opinion.

She's a criminal warlord who does what she wants when she wants with no regard to anyone but herself, more often than not going over corpses. Shepard killed people for less.

I honestly think people are just finding more stuff to moan about. I might be wrong, but I know a LOT of people loved Aria as a character, wanted her as a romance and/or a squadmate.

I don't care to have her as a squadmate or anything...but I don't hate her...I actually like her character within the Mass Effect Universe.
However...I think she would be a much better character if she and Shepard had a more "mutual respect" relationship.
Shepard seems to respect her more than she respects him.

Think she's a very one dimensional character in the games. She's far too cuthroat that it almost feels false. In trying to make her 'bad ass' I actually find her to be quite laughable really.
