I hope Shepard doesn't have to be too friendly with her in Omega.

Plus, she's never been particularly respectful of Shepard, which personally I like. I mean, why should she? It's nice to have some character who don't worship the ground Shepard walks on.
Why do people equate "respect" with worshipping the ground walked on?
There are many levels of respect.
"why should she?"
Many reasons.
First...Shepard is Shepard...so be respectful that Shepard is being respectful towards you.
Second...Shepard goes out of his way to warn her about the gangs trying to take her over. All she gives in return is a location of a cache out somewhere in the galaxy that may or may not still be there.
Third...Shepard does her a personal favor by protecting the Patriach...and all she does in return is allow you to ask about her past...which she really says nothing about nothing in response.
It's one thing to believe you're bigger than Shepard...but come on...give respect where respect is due. She should at least see Shepard on a eye to eye level.

Aria does respect Shepard.
When has she shown any of the respect that he has shown her?

I hope and expect we will give her a reason to do just that in Omega, and I will see if I like her after that, as a person as well as a character.
This is one of the things that will determine whether I will buy Omega or not, actually.

I'm not saying Shepard doesn't deserve respect, but really, who is Shepard to Aria? Just some guy who's done some stuff in parts of the galaxy that aren't even relevant to her interests. It's perfectly in keeping with a character like Aria to act the way she does towards Shepard. She's a gangster - all about power plays and attitude and being bigger than the other guy.
A lot of people we meet give Shepard respect, and even hero worship. In ME2 we gathered a whole squad of people who were impressed with Shepard. Even the Illusive Man spends a fair amount of time talking Shepard up. Now I'm not saying I didn't like that, I just think it's fun to also have characters who couldn't care less who Shepard is.

Though it isn't required to speak to Aria about Garrus or Mordin, if you do she provides that information willingly. At that moment, she has no obligation to Shepard. He hasn't helped her in any way, he asks and she provides. She also willingly gives him information about Morinth.
If you give her the information about the assassination attempt and help her out when she asks, her attitude changes toward Shepard. She expresses appreciation towards him and I don't see that coming easily for her.
In ME3, she trusts Shepard enough to ask him for help with an issue close to her heart. (I use "heart" for lack of a better word) She does so because she knows he can get the job done and in return, offers him resources to help him against this fight. In doing so, it's obvious she sees him as an ally, someone she can trust. That alludes a certain respect, whether "liking" is involved or not. She also lets Shepard use his own judgment when dealing with the missions she gave to him. If she didn't respect him, I doubt she would have entrusted him that way.
If you pass out drunk, she obviously has you brought to her area. You think she does that for just anyone who lays around drunk? It's obvious she is looking out for your welfare.
Aria shows him respect in her own way. She trusts him and even relies on him. Just because she isn't courteous and polite, doesn't mean she disrespects him. She is no nonsense. It would be out of character for her if she suddenly begins patting Shepard on the back and praising him with honey-laced words.

It doesn't matter that, unlike other crime bosses, she obviously respects Shepard (and fears him/her, hence the "scanning" part), and that she is neutral to helpful to him/her. There is no way to kill her, so people hate Aria. End of the story.

This sums it up pretty well. She kicked their ego and it hurt.

Eh, she has other priorities and people show respect in different ways, which you can personally view in different matter compared to how I viewed her, that's fine. I personally believe she's seems Shepard as a threat, but when in her "environment" she doesn't want to show any signs of weakness, being soft, etc, so that's why she acts the way she does around her "crew". Personally, I think those two would get along really well outside of Omega.

She most definitely does respect Shepard. Aria definitely likes Shepard. She says that she doesn't like to give information out freely, yet she still tells Shepard everything she knows (about Garrus, about Mordin, and even about a certain ardat yakshi) for absolutely no cost, at a mere asking from Shepard. She lets you sit in
her VIP area with her around her "throne" and her guards have obviously been given standing orders to let you freely walk up to and talk to her after the first scan to prove it's you, she slowly learns to trust you enough that she actually tells you a bit about her past if you ask after helping her krogan and give her that datapad showing the gangs were going for her next. If she doesn't like Shepard, she at least respects him/her as much as someone like Aria can respect anyone.
And this isn't even getting into you being allowed to take care of the merc bosses in the way you see fit in ME3, given much leeway and freedom in how you do it. And bringing you to her couch if you get wasted and you wake up on it (don't push her generosity though, if you drink yourself out a second time in a row you wake up in the elevator... If you were dumb enough to once again not know your limits, she's not kindly putting you on the couch again).

doubt it. some think Tevos. a few say the Patriarch (though i seriously doubt it).
though the odds are low and bad...and it is a long long shot...im placing my bet with Nyreen (especially if Nyreen is 120-150y/o).
