So I have to give the obligatory, "what's with the constant delays?" comment

As for the XP/points change on gold/platinum...unless the points change is *really* *really* drastic it won't get more people into Gold+ games to do challenges. People are going to lower difficulties for the challenges because almost every challenge is easier to do on lower difficulties.

Waves completed/extractions go much faster when the game goes faster, it's generally easier to rack up more kills and points with "weaker" weapons on lower difficulties, spawn budgets have much greater numbers of "rare" enemies like husks and guardians on lower difficulties. About the only challenge this change will benefit is the N7 promotion challenge.

notice there is no reason as to why there was a delay...silence.... Imagine going to your professor and saying that you are going to have to delay your week long project another day because its "hard work"

actually now that I think about it that seems more reasonable considering while in college you aren't just taking 1 class and usually have multiple things due the same day

bioware only has to add a character... constant balancing is annoying

I really like and appreciate the work the 'MP team puts in, I truly do. It is getting really disconcerting that dates/deadlines are being missed very often recently. It might be better to just make a topic when the balance changes are made instead of having a day that they're supposed to be done by, because it's turning into a bit of a running joke. A new character might not be much, but it definitely helps me keep my motivation to continue playing ME3 eight months after launch over other, newer games.

They dont need to go the easy way out and move the date... how about they step up their game and get organized to find an efficient way to roll the update out... seriously what the heck 4 weeks

Awesome.

As for the preview of changes, I tend to agree with the crowd here;

1) Too many challenges are "complete X waves" and then some of the weapons are so terrible that you're just better off playing Silver or Bronze regardless. The challenge progress would have to be massively better on Platinum/Gold to be even worthwhile... not to mention for those who play with randoms, the quality of said randoms must increase for Gold/Platinum to be worthwhile.

2) The "invulnerability time" is what needs to increase as much as the "gate delay" needs to decrease. As others have said the time alone is too short for most human beings combined with lag, makes it seem non-existent at times.

The notion of the changes is nice, but the reality of them is another thing.

I keep telling people, if you set it in your head that balance changes come Wednesday you won't by disappointed.

I don't think increasing the XP will change much of anything . Like others have said. A lot of the weapons for weapon challenges are a pain to use in gold and plat. They are useable yes, but a pain. Also with the Complete X amount of waves it is simpler and more efficient to do a silver bronze run.

The positive I see out of it is if I want to go for my N7 banner the xp increase will help with that , Just got to sneak some level 1's into gold matches.

dont care, give me CASH MONEY. I'm already at level 20 on everything and you usually dont play anything under level 16/17 on gold and especially nothing lower than 20 for plat.


18-19 is perfectly viable on Platinum with a number of classes.

Level 1 is good enough for Gold.

Tip: Players are playing lower difficulties because it's the fastest way to do waves because you made the challenges require a ridiculous number of waves. Score has very little to do with it.

You might notice a small change, but Bronze and Silver will be an easier way to get points because they are easier difficulties; to solo, in particular. You should have made it 'earn x points with y class' instead of 'play 200 waves with y class.'

Also, any progress on making the Geth more fun to play, or bringing the Collectors into line with the other factions in terms of their difficulty?

Disciple or GPSMG buffs?

Also, just make it so that recovering shields returns the shield gate. That's the best way to do it. Especially since you basically don't even have shield gate on Gold and Platinum.

@Eric: The main reason why I do Bronze is for the character wave counts. I can crank out those 200 waves for certain characters more than twice the speed I can do on higher difficulties. I think if you slashed the required wave counts for characters a bit, this would provide more incentive for myself and others to go back to and stay on the upper difficulties. Either that, or make upper level difficulty waves count more than the lower ones. Thanks. Also, if the balances are known to be delayed, can you please tell us what the next kit will be to tie us over? Have a good day.

More xp is nice for the crappier guns but at the same time.... If a random trys to join my gold lobby with a predator as their main weapon, I don't care, they are still getting a boot marker, LOL.

Pls make it official or something.


Honestly they should launch them on friday mornings after being finalized on wednesdays, so that when most games are played stuff is normalized.

Also, telling players you'll get more XP with a Katana on platinum is the most sincere form of self defeating strategy I've ever seen.

Hey, any chance you guys could considering altering human soldier's adrenaline rush so that it restores shield gate when activated? I really think that would do a lot for the class. It's kind of lame to have your shields go down, pop shield boost, then still get killed in one nemesis/ravager shot.

Cooldown means the length of time you are waiting for something to be available or usable. So if they are reducing the cooldown then that means.....

oh i can't wait to have to play with even more random people that don't belong in gold/platinum. This is a swell idea. I can see this game won't be lasting much longer.

The way to fix people doing challenges on easier difficulties would be to make challenges that actually cater to those people in particular. An XP increase lures EVERYONE to gold/platinum for challenges, even those who perhaps have never even played ME3MP.

There have been a lot of work holidays/special events getting in the way of the Tuesday balance changes in the past few weeks. If a bunch of BW employee's took Monday off then I suspect that much of Tuesday was spent doing whatever it is they normally do on Mondays. While I can understand the delays, it'd be nice to get an announcement earlier in the day.

Edit: Really people, you realize that Monday was a holiday for a lot of people in pretty much every English speaking nation right?
