 Hey everyone!
For quite some time I have been attempting to get DA started on my mac, however, as soon as Im done with creating my character, the game crashes and following message appears:

Exception Raised
Unhandled page fault on read access to XXXXX
at adress XXXXX
Do you wish to debug it?

The XXXXX represent a series of signs and numbers which differ each crash. I have tried reinstalling the game as described on the EA support site but it still keeps crashing. Unfortunately, the EA support has been anything but helpful.

Maybe someone knows what this is all about?
Thanks a lot!!!

I have this problem too. I haven't found a solution.

One of my friends said it might be RAM related. How much RAM do you have? I have 2GB on my Macbook, which is technically the minimum requirement but if the it's related to the page faults it might be too little.

I only have 1GB... But if you have the same problem with 2GB it doesnt seem to be only RAM related.

Not sure about what the mac box says but it clearly says on the PC version that you NEED at least 1.5GB of RAM for any of the OS's

For MAC the minimum is 2 GB, which would explain why Im having trouble starting the game. But how come Trapezunt has the same problem even though his Macbook meets the minimum system requirements? Plus, occasionally I am able to play for a couple of seconds and the game works fine until I get kicked again with the same stupid message! So Im not sure whether its really just the memory thing...

I was having a similar issue, and reinstalling didn't seem to do anything. But what I did that worked was removing the Settings folder from the Bioware folder in my Documents. The game seemed to run fine after that, even when I changed my settings back to exactly how they were originally.

Hope that help.

I am also having the same problem though I have 4 gb of ram so I don't think it is a ram problem. I end up having this exception raised every few days or so. The only thing I've done is run disk permissions and try the game again. So far, that seems to allow me to play it bug free for at least a little while.

Did any of you ever check with the proper Apple oriented tech forum here?

I had the same problem, although it occurred mid-game rather than at install. I deleted the file /Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings/Profile.dap and that fixed everything. The only consequence is that I have to re-log in to the BioWare server to activate my DLC. Takes minutes.
