I didn't really play online multiplayer games before ME3. I had a friends list of...4 or so(all people I actually know and hang out with). When I finally get good enough that I start getting friend invites from randoms in game, there is a big shift in players. Now the 20-25 people who added me after playing a PUG or 2 are all playing the aforementioned games. Kind of sad really. PUG life for me I suppose.

i screamed foul with World at War.  i was apprehensive about any more but got MW2 anyways.  I was done a month after release. refuse to play CoD ever again. it has been the same game since CoD4...just a new paint job given every year.

My gamer rep is just now starting to recover from owning people in MW2 ages ago.

I used to be at 60% avoid and now it's gone down to about 34%. It's kind of disappointing in a way, because if people are avoiding you in PvP games it's a sure sign that you're probably doing something right.

My friends got it and hate it, expecting them back very soon.

I've been reading reviews... their saying good things, i'm starting to doubt if i won't be getting it. Must wait!

Most of the big name reviewers are biased reviews, want an example of one? Look up IGNs MP review.
Absolutely pathetic, the game is a joke and the franchise is dead imo.
It's great for the casual audience though and will continue to sell regardless because of that fact alone.

Noticed that, it was awfully praiseful. Is there a site that provides honest review?

Most people seem to criticize the fact that the engine they used is old and showing it's age and the biggest complaint is that the game is essentially the same thing as other CoD games on a new disc and packaging... nothing illogical yet.

A buddy of mine and his brother have been planning of getting it for a while. His brother was in the service, and for some reason that tends to draw that crowd in, even though most servicemen I know complain COD is too "Hollywood" for them.

Three others already started playing it today. All three of them are constantly going on and off-line for some reason. One of them has already made the comment that the servers suck. LOL I'm guess that is the reason for the constant status changes.

I personally do not want to be associated with COD anymore. There is a certain type (not all mind you, but most) ignorant player that it calls to. On top of the fact of there are also the prepubescents (literally overheard them coming off the school bus today) that are gonna be all over it. I personally just don't want to deal with that type of crowd.

HOWEVER....when Rainbow Six Patriots comes out..................

COD, No. OCD, yes. That is, my uncontrollable urge to collect everything and 100% AC3 is literally killing me. That game has too much junk, it's terrible, but I have to collect it all :(

I don't understand the sense in paying sixty dollars for a duplicate (with a few new things) game that you paid sixty dollars for (plus map packs) last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that.

"one of the best shooters of the last decade"

I wonder of much it cost for someone to forget, well, every good shooter of the last decade.

I never thought people even bothered to "prefer" a player when someone plays well.  I always thought you just get avoided for killing people a little too well in PvP.  I'm pretty sure my approval took a hit back in my early days of GoW2 when I was still a chainsaw noob.

I'll never leave. I tried twice but I can't stop. I love the instant gratification I get from this game without having to listen to whining little kids going on about how "this is BS, I shot him". If I do play any PvP FPS I leave my headset plugged into my controller but then I put my headset on the floor.

ME3 since it's co-op has the best community ever. I love getting into a PUG match with 3 randoms but they all have mics. You just never want to leave those rooms because it's great to meet new people and all of them have the same common goal. PvP has it's place but it's place is no longer in my collection.

ME3 will never die.

so much this. I recently bought halo 4 and while its awesome, playing the multiplayer always makes me feel pissed (especially since I mostly play with randoms). ME3 is amazing because of its team work nature and trash talking is almost nonexistent. videogames for me are a for of escapism from stress and whatnot  and ME3 will always leave me gratified. those moments you stumble upon an awesome team that work together and sometimes even die together.

Dont worry, Mass Effect discs were 'accidentally' put into the printing machines and labelled Black Ops 2. (Black Ops 2 pc shipped with Mass Effect 2 discs in it)

Yeah, I used to get accused of everything from using macros/turbo controllers to using lag switches and aimbots back in the day.

ME3 is too different from other multiplayers for them to really make a huge difference right away, IMO. Yeah, everyone who just got Lag Ops 2 is gonna be playing with their new shiny toy all week, same as everyone who just got Halo 4, but eventually they'll be back, at least a little bit.

And the issue with bad players today might be because awesome people (Me) couldn't connect to the servers, so went retro and played ME2 instead.

If there's one thing this game has taught me, it's that if you make a good enough impression on a person you can get positive player reviews.

... Depending on just how much you impressed that player, you might even get borderline obsessive creepy messages directed towards you.

It is much more common though for someone to get butthurt, and click "avoid" when they're mad over something you did.

In the shop where I work it's not managed to sell out. In fact, we have a lot of copies left. It would seem that the Guitar Hero Effect is catching up with COD now.

Hows sales for older games btw?
Like what's the oldest game on yer shelves that still sells like hot cakes?
Just thought I'd ask.

I can't give actual figures since I don't handle that stuff, but I do know that the one last year sold out, as did Skyrim and more recently Halo 4.

User reviews. Don't trust any journal sites, because money talks. Everyone has their price.

I would think Halo 4 is and will still have a bigger impact just because its a sci-fi game, like Mass Effect. I got Black Ops 2, but I'd pick Halo or Mass Effect over CoD any day...

I bought it. Doesn't mean I won't play ME3 anymore. Hell, if the balance changes had come out today, I wouldn't even touch CoD for a couple of days.
