Firstly, I'm not sure what you mean by 'here's a straw'. If you think me wrong, please point out where you believe the funding is coming from if not from us customers. Such might be an interesting post to read, unlike your last list of 'blahs'.

This thread is an outrage.

I love it when people try to tell you how easy your job is when they have never done or have no knowledge of it. And even if you are a programmer you have no clue how easy the system is to wade through and work in. There's a big difference between a college project and a 2 million line system that actually has to do something for tens of thousands of users. Then piling on feature after feature only complicates that system more. Everything added to multiplayer makes it more fragile. If you don't code in it you don't know it!

IMO you guys at bioware should just ignore these threads, don't give them any attention. If you're doing your job and giving it your best pay no heed. Only you know what it is like in your office not "usernameHateBioware#403".

Also outrage at a weekly balance change being delayed 1 day is laughable, you really have nothing else to do do you?

Go back to COD and wait 6 months for them to ban cheaters and exploiters, charge you for every piece of content, and server downtimes. . Then you can complain about wait times there and leave those of us who have common decency alone. Threads like this make me want to punch a baby with brass knuckles.

The people at Bioware shouldn't have to explain why the balance changes are 1 Day late. How many companies give such great support for their game throughout the year? How many companies give us not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR completely FREE pieces of DLC. In most games you're extremely lucky if you get a single piece of DLC for free, but not once have Bioware made us pay to improve the multiplayer mode, which pretty much has more than twice the content it did back in March.

Thank you for the continued support of the game Bioware.

Well said my friend! Op is yet another self-entitled idiot who doesn't understand the process.

No one is saying their job isn't hard. I'm just saying they could work a little harder on their communication skills. Announce the delay on Monday. What is so difficult about that?

I feel bad that Bioware moderators took time to respond to such a ridiculous complaint.

It's really not that hard to change some variables in a script. There is absolutely no reason for you to EVER be late with the balance changes.

Yeah, not that hard <_< you really don't know what you are talking about, do you? They can't just change some variables, it's not how softwares process works. There's things they must do to assure quality, tests to do, reports to fill and whatever bureaucracy they have implemented in their company. Even if all they have to do is change a number, they can't just go there and change the number...

I'm with the overlords at Biower on this one, sometimes things just take time.

I would rather have balance changes which are delayed, but comprehensive, well tested and don't introduce new bugs into the game, than a half-assed "get it out the door asap" job.

If I was a biower employee, I would never come anywhere near these forums, due to the amount of unconstructive, offensive and down-right ridiculously stupid criticism that is levelled their way each day.

How would you like at your work, to be bullied or harrassed, or called stupid and lazy, or told that you don't work hard by someone who doesn't even know you, doesn't know what your job consists of, or In many cases is probably nowhere near as intelligent as you are.

I'm sure biowre employees always enjoy being told by BSN morons, that they are lazy and stupid.

If criticism is constructive, and valid, then I'm sure biower don't mind reading it. When its substanceless criticism, because you had to wait 7 days instead of 6 since the last balance changes, its about time you put yourself in their shoes and asked yourself "Would I really appreciate having this post I'm writing levelled at me, about my job and hard work?"

Most of you would answer no... (unless you're a masochist.)

Jeez..how about you take a minute instead and be grateful BW is still working on improving MP at all when they do not have any obligation whatsoever to do so? 'Course it's a little disappointing when you get home, expecting balance changes, and see they have been delayed - but then, it's not like it's a gamechanger, you can still play and enjoy to the fullest.

So, thanks Bioware for still making an already awesome game even more awesome - take as much time as you need. B)

I hae no idea why I read through the whole thread, but I think it's funny how most everybody who has said to calm down are the ones who look like they're overreacting. So serious. :D

They were on holiday monday genius. Would you like to come in on your off day to tell customers you won't be there?

Geez, Give them a break. They already have people who ask for too much. I'm sure Bioware tries to get the balance changes out as soon as possible. They give us FREE MP DLC. They constantly change/fix whatever is wrong. I mean, come on, they're doing their best. Cut them some slack. Be grateful that this is more than any developer has given you and your game. I sure am.

You are so right. I forgot about the Friday before. Oh, and that they don't have the interwebs at home!

Communication. It is not that difficult.

.2da edit and a few globals changed, a script or two with simple numeric substitution.

An outrage? Not really...

Lame excuse? Fairly...

Lets take a new kit
 - Is it unlockable in store
 - Do the strings show up? Do they show up for all languages?
 - Do you get the correct number of unlocks for them?
 - Does their drop rate seem correct?
 - Is there a challenge for it?
 - Does the challenge have all the strings? Are they all translated?
 - Does it show up in the GUI?
 - Does it track progress correctly?
 - Does the challenge completing actually add to the gold level challenge?
 - Does it reset when the gold level is complete?
 - Do the people maintaining the n7hq know about the new kit?
 - Does the correct number of unlocks show up underneath?
 - Does the kit level corespond to the correct level on the website?
 - Does the power icons etc show up correctly?
 - Does the leveling of powers show up correctly?
 - Does the challenge show up properly?
 - Does the challenge track properly?

Still more but there is a good amount of things that can (and do) go wrong. Also add in the fact there are 3 platforms.

Still a poor excuse. Why? Because you're professionals.

Oh shut up already.  I don't recall weekly on-time balance changes ever being promised to you.  It would be one thing if they said, "Balance changes are coming out on Tuesday GUARANTEED" and then they were consistently late.  But they didn't.  Receiving balance changes on a particular day and time is an expectation YOU developed, and you're demanding that BioWare adhere to YOUR expectations.

Seriously, I don't think I could work for BioWare - I would not have the patience or the motivation to conistently release content to a bunch of whiny children making unreasonable demands.

I'd rather the devs be late and get it right than not. Making changes in a software as massive as this game is neither simple or easy. It wouldn't hurt for the player base to recognize that.

lol, I love how people think they know how to do BioWare's job. It's just so cute.

I also love how Bryan and Ernest are handing out ass kickings here.

Get it through your heads people; until you are actually hired at BioWare and work on these things like Bryan and others do, please don't adamantly claim that their work is easy. It's rather insulting.

I'm gonna state that I've only read the Dev responses because the op itself is so pathetic (as in, the original post, not the poster) but seeing what Bryan had to explain made me cringe.

I hope none of the haters will ever get to work as a verification engineer. Those simple cases listed are just basic high-level function tests which even an unqalified person can come up with if paid enough, there are at least double that involved with a simple change as the Halloween event was.

Hell, even a toaster has about 50 potential scenarios that need to be verified.

Bottom line, quit whining, go to school, live a life or whatever you want, I'll stop now before I have to exhaust my limited vocabulary of swear words.
