I heard same story after Tomb Raider: Chronicles and Tombraider: Angel of darkness and you know what? Lara is still here and kicking.
ME3 will not destroy franchise, they just change direction a little and ME universe will go on.
They had to reboot the franchise and start a new continuity. I think it's the only hope for the Mass Effect franchise.

I hear about this "bad rep" that ME3 has, on this forum no doubt, perhaps others as well, but really, everything I hear about the game outside of this place is generally positive, aside from the endings, and even then it doesn't seem like something that is going to turn people away from ME4. I'm excited and hope its great. I'm pretty new to the series, I didn't buy any of the games till ME3 was announced, and while I'm not 100% sure, I'm hard pressed to think of a better trilogy in gaming.
Though I agree, Halo fans in coming in 5... 4... 3...
Bah, I hate that word. In any case Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy separate from the 1-3 trilogy.

So Halo 4 is the best place for new players of the Halo franchise to start?

When ME4 comes out, I'll get it pre-ordered, day one, midnight launch. The only worry for me is 2 things in no specific order....
1) This means they'll have to pick a canon ending and that could/will alienate and anger some fans, maybe even alot.
2) What direction they plan on going and how far after Shepard's story it takes place. (okay maybe this is two things bringing it to three). How much will they change gameplay? And Will they refference Shep's actions. This could potentially turn fans away as well.

Why is the hologram lady going inside the green soldier man's head?
I would really hope ME4, wherever it's set, is actually an improvement on ME3 and doesn't go the "Oh noes, Reaper stuff, what do?!" route

ME4 may not live up to the potential of Mass Effect, but it will still be better than most shooter/RPGs out there.

Announced new hero, probably brand new storyline, they said they are "studying new game mechanism" or someting like that - and it doesn't automatically mean more FPS elements, like pesimists here claiming, what about stealth elements like Alpha Protocol or possibility to invest your money in mines companies or such? - so some kind of reboot of ME universe already started.
Lets give they time and chance to show something before damn something what now exists only on few papers or such.

nope haven't bought COD since Black ops don't intend to eitherjacobfl11 wrote...
I can assure you it will sell. People will definitely say "I'm not buying this after the ending!" but they will. They constantly talk the talk, but they won't walk the walk. It's like Call of Duty: They say "This one was just like the last one!" and then they buy the next game. Mass Effect 4 will sell, especially if it is a prequel.

Due to all the neg feedback ME4 will sell poorly very poorly Cause a very large number of fans are done with ME and Bioware and they can't fool any one with their PR spin anymore.
OP is wrong. Millions of sales will prove this, quote me. I bet you are the same guy who said ME MP would die when diablo came out, when borderlands came out, when halo came out, when COD came out. Please, enough people love space operas and the ME universe to keep the dream alive.
