Do you prefer voiced dialogs with less choices or text dialogs with more choices?

This is gonna get lock fast. It has nothing to do with DA3, and its pretty obvious that all Bioware games will be voiced, because it simply IS better.

The distinction needs to be made, otherwise you look like a tool.

I want the voiced dialogs with more choice.

While I'm at it, beauty and intelligence, action-packed and character driven, peanut butter and chocolate, and stylish and economic.

You need to add that, otherwise you look like a hypocrite.

I can enjoy both voiced and silent, depending on the game and the implementation of the chosen feature.

What I'm really looking for are choices for my protagonist and the ability to personalize it and both features can give me that.

I prefer more options, more reaction, more consequences and more control on how PC should talk, act, emotes and behave in cinematic environment. No more generic acting please. I'd like to keep my character's individuality and unique identity. Also the option to control camera view.... and a toggle to first person camera view would be nice.

Has no one been listening? The voiced dialogs/wheel system happened to have more choices too. The pro's just keep comin!

Bigotry is objectively a tool-ish act. No opinions to be had.

I feel as though the voice acting for protagonists has gone through something of an evolution. When there was only Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins the silent protagonist didn't bother me. However, after playing DA2 and The ME series so many times DA1 feels really weird.

I used to be able to build up a sense of who my character was, probably because I was used to him/her never actually speaking. Now DA1 feels like some surreal piece of art. There's all this voice acting, character interaction and emotion. But where I come in there is only awkward silence. My characters in DA1 now feel less like actual characters and more like a means to get everyone else to say things.

DA2/ME1-2 had good balance. I just hope they don't follow ME3's rout and and all but completely strip the dialog wheel of relevancy for sake of "more cinematic" experiences.

This.  I don't mind a voice and I also thought they were balanced, but please cut down on the cinematic stuff.  A little goes a really long way and takes away any control I have over my reactions.

Honestly they might do well with going with Deus ex's route, having a voiced protaganist but having the choices have all or at least most of his dialouge in the choice, so you can see what the person will do or say.

Best of both worlds in my opinion.

academic, Bioware is not going to make a game with a silent protagonist again.

I prefer non voiced due to how much more fleshed out you can make your character. In Origins you can be unapologeticly racist to humans if your an elf, and vice versa with the other races. In DA2, you can kinda just be a dick.

I agree with this.

You need to add that, otherwise I don't get to score imaginary points and show off how cool and witty I am.

And anyway, the OP didn't say anything about DA: O, so I'm not sure why everybody's talking about it.  He referenced Project: Eternity which is going IE style with very limited, if any, voiced dialogue from anyone.  The DA2 vs. DA: O dialogue has nothing to do with this post because they have the same amount of choices in each.  True Infinity Engine games had a lot more dialogue options because most lines weren't spoken. That's what he's talking about.

If that's the case, then this really doesn't have anything to do with DA ]|[, does it?

More choice over voice, but this choice is kind of odd since BioWare has never hinted at there being a balance between the two that needs looking after. ME3 aside, but... let's trust the statements that DA3 will not end up like that, all right?

This-- at least, certainly not a Dragon Age game.

It's also a false dichotomy, as those options are not mutually exclusive.

Regardless, such a topic is far too general to have anything to do with DA3, and belongs in Off Topic.
