All of my choices mostly reflect that I have all of the uncommon weapons at level X but very few rare weapons that I care about at more than level 1 or 2...

Sniper rifle: Viper, because I like having backup shots to compensate for my lousy aim and my Valiant III's damage isn't high enough to compensate for how much more it weighs than my Viper X.

Assault rifle: Mattock, it's accurate and damaging enough to feel like a rifle should feel, even though I need to hammer my mouse to get it up to a decent rate of fire.

SMG: I tend to be reluctant to use SMGs but when I do I'll go for the Hurricane or the Tempest. The Hurricane makes a real mess of things at short range but the Tempest feels a bit more versatile.

Shotgun: The only one I like much is the Crusader, on classes where cooldown isn't an issue it's a great weapon. Of the others sometimes I pack my Piranha II as a backup close range weapon.

Pistol: The Phalanx is my preferred balance of rate-of-fire, weight and damage. I use it with most casters. I have an Acolyte I and I acknowledge that it's very good at its job, but I hate using it. The slow rate of fire and slow projectile annoy me. I got a Carnifex I in one of the very first Spectre packs I got after I started playing multiplayer but it's not seen an upgrade since, so I stick to the Phalanx.

Pistols:  Acolyte and Talon (LOVE a pocket shotgun), best looking is probably the Paladin though...

SMG:  Hurricane, why use anything else? Would be cooler if our characters actually USED the foregrip though, minor nit-pick.

AR:  I love them all, seriously they all have their own charms.  If I had to pick...probably either revenant or typhoon for sheer face melting dakka dakka...

Shotguns:  Oh man, Claymore, Wraith, Piranha, and Raider are all my go to weapons for damn near any class, love my claymore wielding QMI, my Piranha or Raider GI, and Wraith on my Vorcha Sent and Soldier.  The Raider probably is my current favorite.  I just have a visceral reaction to the look and sound of it. 

Sniper Rifle:  Javelin and Black Widow fo sho.

Hope this thread doesn't turn into a list of guns to nerf for BW :-(

Snipers
Used to be the Valiant, but I've not received an upgrade for it since Rebellion-era at the latest, probably closer to Resurgence, and it's hard to keep loving a fixed point while everything around it gets gradually stronger. Currently having most of my fun with the Indra, although the Black Widow and the Viper have been getting increasing amounts of love over the last few weeks.

Assault Rifles
I finally got the Cerberus Harrier on N7 day, and got an upgrade for it a few days later... but I've grown so accustomed to the other fourteen assault rifles, and as I've built my strategies to fit a Harrierless world, I've not actually used it yet. My most wanted assault rifle, sat around in storage for a week! It's heresy, I should get cracking. Without that in the balance, then, it's currently probably the Prothean Particle Rifle. But that's subject to change.

Submachine Guns
Hurricane. All day, every day. It's the only one that I might want to bring into a match instead of a pistol. Blood Pack Punisher wins it for single-player, though.

Shotguns
Until recently, it was the Claymore, but my soldiers, my vanguards, my infiltrators, a couple of my sentinels and one of my adepts have a new best friend in the form of the Raider. Wider spread than the Claymore, but with half as many reloads, there is no better way to tell a Centurion that it's encroaching on your personal space. I heart my Raider.

Pistols
Despite the low clip capacity, my pistol of choice is the Paladin. It's the first ultra-rare weapon I ever got - I didn't even know what one was, I took a photo of the screen because I thought I must've got a promotional weapon by mistake - but it clearly left an imprint on me, because it's by far my most used pistol across the entire game. So good, and I don't mind the low ammo capacity at all. Triumph of a weapon.

Pistol: Carnifex.  Balanced and accurate.
Shotgun:  Wraith.  Love it.
SMG: Hurricane.  Honestly haven't really used the others.
AR: Saber.  All day erryday.  I'm quite accurate with it, scoped.
SR: Valiant.  I seem inaccurate with SR's compared to the Saber, for some reason.

1. I have no opinion on the following weapons. Luck of the draw has been against me getting them so far.

2. It really depends what I am doing for an avatar at the time.
Sniper Rifle > Goto weapon is the M-97 Viper. Power is the Black Widow or M-98 Widow.
Assault Rifle> Goto weapon is the M-96 Mattock. Power is the M-76 Revenent.
SMG> Goto weapon is the M-12 Locust or the M-9 Tempest. Power is the N7 Hurricane.
Shotgun> Goto weapon is the M-22 Eviscerator or Disciple. Power is the N7 Piranha.
Pistol> No real favorites here. I have had some success of late with the M-77 Paladin, the M-6 Carnifex, and the Arc Pistol. Pistols in my mind must be supported by Biotic or Tech abilities.

Sniper Rifle: Javelin. So far I have not met a SR more satisfying or powerful then this one, and it actually feels like an anti-material rifle. It also feels like a sci-fi high tech sniper rifle as well.

Assault Rifle: N7 Valkyrie. While mine is still only at lvl 1, I know that in the six years it takes to get it to X, I will love it even more. This is pure fanboy goggles, but once it has levels behind it, it will compete with the Harrier and PPR for best AR.

SMG: Collector SMG. I don't actually like this gun, but I hate the Hurricane way more then I hate this, and no other SMG has the high DPS needed for gold matches.

Shotguns: Raider. This is the first shotgun that doesn't look like a toy in a krogans hands. I was really upset when they ruined the three-shot option from the destroyer though.

Postols: Scorpion. Bang! BANG! BANGBANGBANGBANG!

SMGs: Tempest, Hornet (No Hurricane or CSMG yet. Those and the Harrier are the only guns I don't have at least level 1 on)

Pistol- Arc Pistol I mostly use the charge shot but it's nice to know I have fast firing as an option in sticky situations. I usually throw the scope on for headshots and piercing to deal with pesky guardians when I don't have time to mail-slot perfectly. Use it on the Fury (fav class)

SMG- Don't use enough SMGs as primary weapons to really have a favorite. I like the sound the Geth Plasma SMG makes on full auto though.

Assault Rifle- Prothean Particle Beam. Because Ima firin mah lazor (which feels like a weaker version of the Collector Particle Beam from ME2 which was more lazor!) Wish it was a tad stronger, or at least got to its bigger beam faster. Love it when it melts stuff though. I'm also not a fan of thermal clips from a lore perspective so using it is a shoutout to the good ol' days of Mass Effect.

Shotgun- Reegar. Melts stuff. 'nuff said.

Sniper- Widow. It's not the highest performer or even the most damaging with the Javelin in the picture. But it still feels like I'm firing an anti-tank rifle against fleshy meatbags. Good times. Special mention to the Collector Sniper for the same melt-stuff-lazor-firin. If only it had a bigger clip or there was a mod that expanded it...

Sniper Rifle: Javelin. Can't get into its rhythm to save my life, but the sound guys deserve a cookie for its "Zwoop-BANG" firing sounds. Also, very satisfying when you do get a headshot (or three at once)

Assault Rifle: Saber. I can make this thing sing, and, again... dat noise.

Shotgun: Wraith. My god, the wraith. Super powerful for its weight. Have it at X, and many of my casters use it to relieve enemies of their craniums while on cooldown.

SMG: I use the hurricane most, but I think I like the Hornet best.

Pistol: Acolyte. Have to say I miss its charging mechanic, which made it feel unique even if it was harder to use. Phantoms hate it.

 Sniper Rifels: Valiant
The handling is just so much better than any other sniper rifle.

Assault Rifles: Avenger
The Avenger just fells right. If it would do more damage per shot it would be the perfect weapon.

SMGs: Hurricane
With SMG Recoil System V the recoil is predictable and this weapons becomes a monster.

Shotguns:  Talon
I know the Talon is a pistol but it is what shotguns should be should. If I have to name an actual shotgun I would probably pick the Piranha because it is the only one with a decent damage to weight ratio.

Pistols: Carnifex
Accurate, hard hitting and light ... well, it use to be light at least.

AR: Falcon - The bouncing ist just too funny.^^
Sniper: Collector - Cool beam, accurate, good capacity.
Pistol: Talon - Not that heavy, good damage, excellent for short range
Shotgun: Piranha...maybe...not a big shotgun fan.
SMG: I hate 'em all. xD
