SR - valiant in singleplayer was awesome, havnt gotten it in mp though so i chose Javelin, kinda awesome that u can oneshot centurions on gold thrue the shield gate as GI

AR:  Striker.  I don't have the Harrier yet and I just got the PPR and haven't tried it yet.  I just like all the booms the Striker makes.  I never use AR's when I'm afraid that I might have to carry a match.

Shotgun:  Wraith, but there are a LOT of good shotguns.

Pistol:  Talon, although I do really like the Acolyte.

SMG:  Hurricane.

Sniper:  Probably Widow or Valiant.

Sniper Rifle: Javelin - No idea why. I hate sniper rifles specifically because single-shot with scopes is annoying. The Javelin is the epitome of those annoyances, but I kind of like it, especially with the HVB and armor piercing mod, because the shots you can do through walls are ridiculous.

Assault Rifle: Harrier - Sorry, chose the obvious. Honestly, I wanted to say Revenant, but it just isn't true. PPR is a close, close, CLOSE second.

SMG: Collector SMG - Hurricane was close, and it's a better weapon, but I like the way the Collector SMG feels.

Shotguns: Toss-up between the Wraith and the Claymore - Both very, very beast weapons. Claymore has an edge on dodgeless classes, Wraith on classes with lower weight capacity.

Pistols: Talon - No explanation required. It's awesome.

Sniper rifle: Javelin. Because it kills bosses while sounding like an electronic loogie.
AR: Typhoon. It's just awesome.
Shotgun: Crusader. Basically a sniper rifle without a scope.
SMG: Hornet. People tend to underestimate how good this gun actually is.
Pistol: Talon. Lightweight shotgun

just for fun, I was thinking if people could tell what weapons in each category do they like the most and why. Point is not to find out the best guns ever, but instead finding the ones with most fun to play with or something that's just cool.
To get this started, I'll go first

Pistols: Arc Pistol. I just like fast shooting handgun with deadly accuracy, never really use the charge up function on the gun tho.

Shotguns: Katana. Basic shotgun with enough shots. And I like the looks

Assault Rifle: Particle rifle. beam mechanics are just fun and look nice ingame

Sniper rifle: N7 Valiant. Looks nice and fits my style quite well. I don't enjoy heavy damage single shot snipers as much. Valiant just feels more versatile and efficient

SMG: Tempest. On turian soldier, this gun is effective and fun. shooting out gazillion bullets per second is just the way I like my smg

Pistol: Talon. Vorcha Soldier, Female Quarian Engineer. a very agressive gun, kill ravagers on gold with two shots followed up by a fire explosion

Shotgun:Geth Plasma Shotgun/ A-12 Raider (Geth Plama ignores armor, combine that with warp ammo and brutes will fall. A-12 Raider. i give it to my Male Quarian Infiltrator, Combine with incendiary ammo High-Velocity Barrel and Smart Choke, maybe with a tac scan as well fire two shots at a primes head then arc grenade to detonate fire explosion.. fun.

Assault Rifle:Cerberus Harrier, i give it to my geth and things die.

Sniper Rifle:Black Widow/Raptor (black widow is an amazing gun. javelin is better on damage but black widow can fire multiple shots so  that either means more headshots or if you miss your shot there wont be a big penalty, i love sticking the barrel in an assault troopers face and hipfiring for a headshot.
Raptor is an interesting gun, i like playing nemesis with the human female infiltrator.

SMG: Hurricane/ Collector SMG (Hurricane does more damage, at the cost of not having ammo and starts ammo powers effectively, CSMG  no worries about ammo, starts ammo powers when i need them and is very reliable for headshots.

AR: mattock, valkyrie, harrier (for me it's just turning from single shot to bursts to automatic, I love all 3)
SR: widow, the old one. I love how powerful it is (I don't like javelin's delay)
SMG: hurricane with stability mod, I'd say the Collector, but I don't have it.
Shotguns: claymore and talon (I know it's a pistol but since it works like a shotgun)
Pistols: carnifex (or modded paladin) and phalanx

Pistols: Acolyte - I personally mostly play casters and do almost all my fighting with powers. The Acolyte is a great backup to that playstyle, a light weight shield buster. Plus it has some fun combat tricks.

This post is not a comment on our balance process or what guns we think are the best. Just the guns I have fun using, regardless of power level!

Sniper: Undecided as I don't snipe enough to have a favourite, haven't picked up a sniper rifle in weeks. I am the AntiGod of Headshots (2 pure fluke silver medals in 4 months from Mattock and GPSMG heh). Ask again when I get around to the sniper challenge this time next year perhaps.
Pistol: Scorpion. I appreciate what the Acolyte does, but will never love it like the Scorpion.
AR: Mattock and it's dirty sister Harrier.
Shotgun: Undecided also as not a big shotgun user. I can tell you it definitely won't be the Graal though. I will be glad when I get my 200k so I can put it away for good.
SMG: Locust. I like being able to hit things without mods, gear or species/character abilities (Yes Hurricane i'm looking at you).

Sniper: Black widow (deadly and have 3 shots!, best sniper), N7 Valiant(fast, powerful and low recoil), Indra(super ligth, good whit powers classes), Widow(Very powerful, for guys dont have a black widow), Mantis(best commom weapon)

Assault rifles: Cerberus Harrier(LOL), Typhoon(very bullets, good to kill heavy troppers), Phaeston(good to play, for guys dont have ultra rare weapons), particle rifle(infinite ammo!!), Revenant(very strong and is not ultra rare), avenger(good commom weapon for bronze, silver), Matock (for who don't have the Cerberus harrier)

Smgs: Locust(a good weapon for hs), GPsmg(Rate of fire haha), Collector smg(against armored troopers), Tempest(for guys dont have money, very good in bronze silver), N7 hurricane(best smg)

Shotgun: Claymore(best shotgun haha), GPshotgun(good precision, powerfull, deadly against anoying phantom), N7piranha(everybody likes), Wraith(two fatal shoots), Reggar carabine(to destroy shields)

Pistol: Paladin(sniper pistol), Talon(pistol shotgun, very powerfull), predador(second best commom weapon), acolyte(to destroy shields and kill anoying phantom)
