Sniper: Tie between indra and incisor (I like how these snipers work, plus that reload animation.)

SMG: Hurricane. (Bullets, rain of bullets.)

Shotgun: Tie between claymore and Disciple. (The claymore for its incredible stopping power, while the disciple for its design and sound.)

AR: Hard to choose from this section. I'll stay with the Vindicator(Windicator), though I still like most of the ARs in this section, with only a few exceptions.

Pistol: arc pistol. (I like both its design and its utility.)

Shotgun: GPS, Reegar, Claymore, Raider, Wraith, Piranha
Pistols: Talon, Acolyte, Scorpion

These are what I like, not what I think are best

Sniper - Collector Rifle
SMG - Locust
Shotgun - GPS
Pistol - Eagle
AR - This is very difficult to choose. I use the Harrier the most followed by the GPR or PPR but none of them feel perfectly designed to me, my favorite of all time is probably the Avenger even though I don't really use it anymore. As a starting weapon it was good on Bronze and Silver for a wide array of characters.

Snipers: Raptor. What. You looking at me?

AR: Revenant. No I don't USE it but, it's still my favorite.

SMG: Tempest, though I wish it had the same feel as the hurricane, while functioning the same way.

Shotgun: Scimitar. If only it worked.

Pistols: Phalanx. Feels like a solid pistol without overcompensating.

Sniper Rifles: I can't aim! INDRA
Assault Rifles: Still can't aim! CERBERUS HARRIER
SMG: Nope, can't aim still, but this one is soooo good it don't matter! HURRICANE
Shotguns: Don't need to aim here! PIRANHA
Pistols: No aiming required! SCORPION

Except for Assault Rifles there are plenty of good options in each weapons class though. Part of the fun really.

Black Widow in a tight one over Jav and Valiant
Hurricane all day erry day, but CSMG is not bad
Wraith with Claymoar, Raider and Piranha close behind
Acolyte. Talon and Scorpion are good too.
