Admist all the serious debates about which direction this franchise should take, I decided to post a completely random thread about your characters.

Assuming Dragon Age 3 is interesting looking enough and has positive enough (nonprofessional reviews) to warrant a buy rather than an eh, I'll pass, and assuming that the game permits whatever type of character you want to play within reason, what would you roleplay your Inquisitor as?

Personally, I have a feeling I wouldn't/won't be able to resist the urge to pretend that my character is a 40k Inquisitor.

Which is to say I will

- kill every nonhman who can be killed at the first opportunity.
- be a dick to every nonhuman who can't be killed at the present.
- kill every mage who isn't a chantry loyalist that can be killed as soon as possible, and kill about half of those just to be safe.
- be a dick to every mage who can't be killed, regardless of their loyalties.
- Kill anyone who speaks even the slightest word against the Maker, and be a dick to those who can't be killed at the present to the best of my abilitiy.
- take any and all oppotunities to burn mages at the stake and silently shout "FOR THE EMPRAH/MAKER!!!" when charging into battle.
- Randomly shout "HERESY" then kill people. With fire.
- Be hammy enough to make William Shatner facepalm.

I will be very (slightly) dissapointed if less than half the items on my list are possible in game.

Definitely going the 40k =][= route. Bioware keeps on insisting that the only race that matters (ie: can be played) in DA are humans I might as well do it properly... the real shame is I doubt Bioware could pull off an Inquisitor that has one tenth the Badarsetude of a proper Monodominant.

Actually what was said was, Humans are integral to this game's story. They never said we'd have to play a human in every Dragon age game (even tho I'd welcome it).

I'm going to base mine on the idiocy found in the BSN. Who wants to bet I'll be lynched within the first hour?

Where? All I heard was something about oppurtunity costs. As for the integral to this game's story, they said the same about Hawke and her family in DA2... a character whose relevance and agency are readily questionable. We already know elves can at least potentially be heavily invested on one side of the conflict given Orsino managed to be top mage in Kirkwall.

They never said we'd have to play a human in ever Dragon age game (even tho I'd welcome it).

True, they said it 'wasn't set in stone' but they've seemingly made it such a low priority that it's 99.9% guaranteed to be the case. Assuming there are further DA games.

If the story goes the way DA2 did, I'm just gonna kill everyone thats possible to kill and I'll be a jerk to anyone I can't kill.

That is to say that if i'm not happy with the game, I'll do everything in my power the destroy Thedas. Image IPB

(wouldn't it be great, if at the end of the game, you could just drop an A-bomb on Thedas or something) Image IPB

Tbh, I really have to wonder if BioWare will let us go all out burning people at the stake left and right for completely arbitrary reasons. I really hope we can.

I'll be playing a mage. I'm thinking of walking the path of the sociopathic hero.

Well since this game might actually be about flower picking (unlikely but not impossible) I think I'mma wait another couple of months before I decide HOW I'm going to play my character. XD

I will be playing a mage , don't know how it can fit with the inquisition.
I suppose the inquisition will be related to magic trouble somehow ...
If i can I will "roleplay" as a mage obsessed with knowledge and that's why she became an inquisitor.
Won't be playing pro or anti chantry , just wanna know if they hide anything , ancient text etc...

The templars/mages conflict , hope I can play neutral , just being pragmactic about the issue.

I guess I'd like inquisitor to be feared and respected to a degree .
Being able to go to important places ,blackmail important people , etc...

Non-mage, probably an archer rogue. Someone who just wants the mages and templars to sit down, have a cup of tea, and shut the f*** up. And is willing to enforce that at the tip of something very sharp and pointy.

I'll be a Warrior with a cocky attitude but does nice things... for humans.
If there's any chance for me to do so, I actually enjoy being a racist humanist.
human power!

My plan is to just be a total dick to everyone for no reason. Like Renegade Shepard.

TBH my primary Warden and Hawke are both mages, and both very vocal about mage rights, though my Hawke did eventually slip into Villain Protagonist territory.  It'll be nice to play a normal person who just wants everyone to stop killing each other.

Normally I go full psycho in most Bioware games the first go round. However, funnyhawke opened a whole new world for me. So if there's an option to make awful jokes at the most inappropriate of times, all the time, then that's the route for me! Boneless women flopping about the streets indeed!

"Morally ambiguous" neutral male whom views societal concepts like "honour" and "duty" as indirectly imposed rules; rules he does not abide by, as he has his own morality separate from the sheep.

People will refer to him as "The Hipster Inquisitor".

I plan on just going for whatever is default. Since my Shepard got ruined in ME3 (face import didn`t work at all), I am not risking that again. So default looks, and probably a warrior of some sorts. If the spawning\\raining enemies from DA2 is gone, I might try another class instead.

How do I plan on playing my first character (for DA3/I)?

With much enthusiasm.

This MO will most likely carry over to the second character as well.

What? You are a new pc. Hawke and Warden are done.

I'm playing a girl archer who's compassionate, kind and just. Believing in freedom for all.
