The mods which supposedly add weight are bugged.

Does this work with the N7 Valkyrie?
Valkyrie doesn't count as a DLC gun, since it's been in the game the whole time, just locked/hidden.

I believe I have found the answer. Equipping ULM on any Pistol (DLC or non-DLC) breaks the bug. Equipping ULM on any SMG (DLC or non-DLC) breaks the bug. Just don't bring any other ULM and your mods on non-DLC weapons should be zero-weight. Bringing heavy mods on DLC guns will not break the bug on your other gun, but those mods will have weight.
I have not experienced any other kinds of bug reversion. Dying and reviving does not break the bug for me. Carrying DLC weapons does not break the bug for me, even if these DLC weapons have heavy mods on them as well. The single thing that I have seen break the bug is equipping a ULM mod on any weapon.
Thnx for the info. I ran some tests, and I can confirm that this also applies on Xbox.

Maybe I should balance it out by equipping a secondary weapon just to simulate the weight.

Didn't work with the Raider. Put on both the omni-blade melee attachment and the heavy armor piercing mod. Cooldown was 33 percent, used a Batarian Brawler. Cooldown was HORRENDOUS, somewhere around 6 seconds. It did learn me to play a bit differently, and I was able to reload cancel like a boss since my BC wasn't available for so long, but eh, add the Raider to the list of weapons that the mods "work" on (in terms of increasing their weight).
Did you play at least two games in the same lobby with it? It should work, but I'll double check the Raider on my own just to be sure.

is the indra not affected since it was a late release but not a "dlc"?

I tested with the Indra using both HVB and Thermal. The bug works with it.
In addendum to my previous discoveries, it seems that the bug will work 100% of the time when hosting; you don't have to enter one match at full cooldown right after setting your weapon loadout. In the middle of testing the Raider w/HVB & Omni-Blade for non-host matches.
Edit: Ok, the Raider interestingly enough does NOT work with this bug off-host. I doubt it has much to do with latency, so for whatever reason, if you are not hosting, the Raider will have proper weight issues with the corresponding mods, but the bug WILL work if you're hosting.

Example: Acolyte with HB and ULM in game weights 0.2, but in reality on your power cooldown weights 0.35 as it should be. So don't trust the % on the weight bar.

Be careful when you use pistol HB + ULM, the screen shows the base weight but instead there's a difference, Eric Fagnan told me that is only a visual error, your cooldowns will be affected normally.

Thread already mentions ULM cancelling the bug.

Different but related issue—even before people noticed the larger bug, ULM was suspected to completely counteract the weight of the heavy barrel. Turns out it works as expected, which is fine.whalewhisker wrote...

Anyway, can anyone confirm how this bug behaves off-host?

Next game I unequipped the acolyte and left both "heavy" mods on the black widow and the bug started working. I was under the assumption you could carry dlc weapons like the acolyte as long as it had no ULM but apparently that's not the case. Anyone else have this happen?

I played a game as QMI off host using black widow and acolyte. The acolyte had no ULM on it. The black widow had both HVB and the new scope. In game my cd was off the charts like it should have been.

Like I've posted previously, you should play two matches with the same host without leaving the lobby and without opening your weapons menu to make sure. With the exception of DLC weapons, ULM'd weapons and the Raider, this is what's been working so far.
