Isn't this what took them so long to release these mods? Guess they gave up trying to fix it and hoped nobody would notice.

This glitch is trickier than it seems.

Widow + Weight Scope + Weight Barrel seems to make widow twice heavy as it should no matter what.
So is with Wraith + Weight blade + weight barrel. It makes Wraith twice heavy.

It still needs to be very carefully utilized.

Or.. to use glitch maybe we need to use only 1 heavy weight mod at a time..

Based on my experience today, it is not just two HW mods to one weapon, but more than one HW mod between the two weapons you carry.

I tried out a HW mod on both a pistol and a sniper rifle and the results in the HW mods working as advertised.  The examples I used were the Raptor and Carnifax as well as the Viper and Phalanx, both on a level 19 Kroguard.  With both weapons sporting an HW mod, I had the CD that was advertised via the weapons page, when I used biotic charge.  I did not have the level 6 Krogan Battlemaster evo, but that would not have mattered, since that is a shotgun weight reduction and would not have affected either a sniper rifle or a pistol, WRT CD bonus.

Bottom line, certain weapons, if equipped with a HW mod, will not result in a HW CD penalty.  But if you use ULM on a weapon, use a specific weapon from DLCs or try to use two HW mods, either on the same weapon or on both weapons you carry into a match, then the weight penalty will work as advertised.

Edit add:  I also tested the Eagle with a HW barrel, without another HW weapon in the mix (I was using the Saber as my other weapon, still on the Kroguard).  The CD was faster than it should have been, if the HW mod CD penalty had worked properly.  Forgot to add that in my initial post.

When I tried with Widow + 2 weight mod + Phalanx + heavy barrel, it resulted in ultra slow cooldown,
so I tried it without Phalanx and Widow was still heavier than never before..

Confused... I think using only one heavy weight mod is best thing to do

See, I tested against this in my first post in this thread using an Indra with two weight mods & an Eagle with one, and I was able to get the bugged cooldowns counteracting all three weight mods just fine. Is everyone making sure to run at least two consecutive matches in the same lobby without touching their loadout? Just feels like all the previous posts to that effect are being ignored. >_>

Nevertheless, I think it would be best for those of us with time to double and triple check as many weapon/mod combinations as possible, especially the post-launch non-DLC specific weapons like the Raider (which seems not to work with this bug at all unless hosting).

Tested it with high velocity barrel on a geth pulse rifle and as second weapon the geth plasma shotgun again with HVB. Both weapons had two other mods not adding weight, and none was ULM (ultra light materials). When actually in-game both mods do not increase cooldown for power at all!

This does explain something. My Krentiels Claymore was sporting Shredder and Omniblade, Decided to use the Heavy barrel instead, and instead of his detonator (Read, token incinerate) recharging surprisingly quickly it took a few days.

So it would seem this bug is true! I'll bear this in mind for future, got a few kits I can exploit this on.

So far from the tests I've done in the past couple of days, It seems that it's best not to get greedy and only use one heavy mod.

My Broguard and Valkyrie have been happy with the hvb and wraith!

I took a Wraith with the weighted barrel and blade on my Brawler and charge was cooling down super fast, even with Blade Armor on. I did the same thing with a Graal on my Havok and got long cooldowns. There has to be other factors at work.

Tested: I had a Demolisher with Mattock X + Scorpion VII which gave her a supply pylon cool-down of about 15s. Then slapped a HVB + Thermal Scope in Mattock, plus HV + Mag in Scorpion and was getting the same cool-down (if there was no bug SP should have a cool-down of 45s).

Thermal Scope came in pretty handy as I could grenade spam doorways without actually peeking in. Bioware, don't fix the bug :P

I've noticed mine still get the penalty. Either way they went far overboard with the weight "penalty" anyways.

I played a match as a Batguard with a Wraith equipped with the Omni-Blade and HVB mods and my cooldowns were definitely a lot slower than with just the Omni-Blade equipped. So yeah, it does seem like having more than one mod that ups the weight does actually make a difference.

So one mod is best?

Anyone do any more testing on this? My 'very scientific' anecdotal evidence shows me that the bug is 'finicky' and there does not quite seem to be an obvious and 100% consistent way that it works (or doesn't work). With that being the case, I'm not sure it's worth trying to exploit (or fix, did you hear that Bioware!?!)

Ok, I figure I'll post here.

I tried using both heavy mods today on my BW wielding Turian Soldier, and I was getting longer CDs. Didn't bother to test exactly, but they were roughly twice as long so no need to either.

So, anyone knows how it really works?

Think I'll run Wraith X on my Shadow with High Velocity Barrel now lol. Test it out in a quick Gold run.

Sorry to bump this thread (at least it's within a month's time only). :innocent:

But for shiggles...I went ahead and put both mods on my Black Widow X, and the HVB and the pistol ULM on my Paladin VI, took them out with my Human Infiltrator, and his cooldowns weren't effected at all. And that is three "weighted" mods.

So is it an odd number of weight mods that bugs out and gives you unaffected cooldowns?

Shotgun Omni Blade increases the weight of the Graal Spike Thrower and my cooldowns agreed

(edit to be fair that was just with Tech Armor so I could be wrong)

Heh, this explains why my cooldowns with my Vorcha Engy were still pretty high when I was using the Valiant with the HVB on him.

....So only the commonly-used weapons are affected?
