I am happy to play with you guys if we are all on together. Seems to me this is where some of the old team arelex members I play with are gravitating. Always enjoy some good games.

This might as well be the "Come all join Spectre".

THOSE WHO WANT TO JOIN SHOULD BE ABLE TO SURVIVE A PLATINUM DUO WITH ME.

I feel like this new spectre group might turn into a free 4 all which defeats the purpose of it being a DISTINGUISHED group like pc is.

Speed running is good but its not an extreme challenge and anyone can get the hang of it quickly.

The requirments needs to be something extreme. Thats what makes spectre distinguished from everything else. Something that less than 30% of the community cant do.

Sorry if I sound like an elitest DB but I gotta be blunt about it.... -_-

Well I see you've let Ashen Earth into your group.

If you start letting scrubs like him into a group of so-called 'elites' then it doesn't say anything good about your standards.

You're on. Next time we're both online, send me a message and I'll run through one with you. :D

Edit: Preferably when I am not drinking, otherwise it could be VERY interesting...

FWIW I think a duo platinum is a very easy requirement... doesn't really take brilliant gameplay, just the patience to kite the enemy round the map for ages.

Not sure what criteria you guys should use though. :P

Duo Plat, no rockets, in under a set time.

That sounds more like it. But I would have it as no rocketing spawns on non-objective waves, rather than just a blanket 'no rockets' rule.

Then again, it's not my group, so you guys can decide on whatever you like. :wizard: Just offering my 2 cents.

How about 10 plat games where you always get paid and don't get embarrassed on the scoreboard by 100k.

I'm in the group but I've never soloed Plat, only duoed it once... but I always win. In fact I've probably played more Platinum than anyone I know due to my aversion to playing on Gold...

I also get outscored by players like Cold and Ashen because they run all over the map. I move if I have to, but I usually walk, not run. I always check my corners, because, ya' know... Marauders/Phantoms.

That's interesting.

I (and most of the PC Elite) tend to run around the map like maniacs, heading to the nearest spawn so we can blow it up. :wizard:

If it means anything to you, there were never any "try-out" type things for the PC group. It was a little more informal than that - sort of just have fun in a night of games together and invite people that you suit the group :P

I figure that was why I was invited, but after I outscored Cold twice this morning, I guess there might be an actual reason? :innocent:

I know.... that's the way alot of the elite play. I don't play that way... I see no point in risking a mistake so I can be at the spawn first, unless I'm running a grenade class... then the risk is worth the reward. I'm in no hurry to make the game end as fast as possible... I'd rather dominate the enemy with tactics and not make mistakes that cost gel, or expose other team members to risk when I'm down.

It just makes more tactical sense IMO to move up to a safe position with view on a chokepoint, kill everything, then advance. The enemies are dumb... I'm going to use that against them instead of trying to brute force my way to victory.

I was going to post a few thoughts I have, but this pretty much sums up what I was going to say.  Just play a few games with someone and chat to them.  For example the other day I played with Sirian and Jay, obviously in game they ripped things up very impressively but between games they were really cool and I enjoyed sitting and chatting with them in a lobby. I can see why people hold them in such high regard and its not just all about the skills.

I'm playing with the people I let in, doing u/u/g and u/u/p.
If they suck and sound like they have no idea what they are talking about I don't let them in.
The requirement to join is playing like a top tier player, not doing a duo platinum.

So far only 1 person that requested to join wasn't good enough, that I played with anyways.
