I've played with these guys a bit.
It's not very difficult to do well in Platinum game when you've got players like them on your flanks. If the group's purpose has nothing to do with special, odd ball challenges or even speed runs, what's the point? It's just seems like a made-up badge used for bragging rights and circle jerking.
These guys are usually quite open to character builds/discussion and how-to-play and other game-buidling ideas. It's not about ego-stroking and elitism. They usually share on how to have more fun playing. i.e. Not nuking spawns every wave, team synergy, etc.
I would say they just want to have fun at the highest level the game has to offer.
If that's the case, then the people who will benefit most from these type of discussions are those who have not yet reached "elite" levels. Even saying that word makes me want to roll my eyes.
I'm an elite player. U mad?
The term "Elite Xbox player" makes me roll my eyes too though. Now there's an oxymoron if ever I saw one.
The term "elite player" in general is laughable in a game like this one.
To be fair though, I'd probably call myself an "elite" too if I managed to be relatively successful playing on your connection. It can't be easy lagging 2 hours behind everyone else in the game.
Well to be fair, I only lag 2 hours behind everyone else if the host is on the moon. Which most PUG hosts seem to be.
On most hosts there's quite a delay (even on good ones) but it's just something I'm used to.
Also, the term 'elite' simply means the best in a particular category. The category in this case is ME3 MP.
