Here's some vids I recorded of pack opening, demonstrating why I'm also following this strategy. First vid is opening spectre packs:


I had opened some RP/VP before these packs (stocking up), the video is from the first SP opened - first SP dropped a UR, so I kept opening.

Second vid is premium specture packs:


Again, first pack opened drops a UR, so I keep opening. Again, I had opened some RP/VP to stock other equipment prior.

In between these two, I went to the store 3 other times. Once 3xPSP for nothing, once 5xSP & 5xPSP for nothing, and once 1xPSP for nothing. The 5/5 purchases I should have realitically stopped after no more than 3 packs if I was only trying to drop an UR - but I was chasing some other unlocks and kept going for that, plus I was interested to see if I'd stopped early if I would have missed any URs.

So if you count the stats on all packs, PSP is 3 in 15, or 20%, SP is 3 in 13, or 23%. And like I said, if I wasn't trying for other Rare unlocks, and was only trying to pull UR, I would have opened less packs in both cases.

Opened some more packs tonight, except this time I primarily opened Arsenal Packs and some Reserve Packs, after seeing comments in another thread that AP looked like they were dropping more URs.

First AP I opened (ever!) pulled a UR. I opened 4 more for nothing. I then joined a lobby which went nowhere and bailed after a few minutes.

Back in the store, I tried some Reserve Packs, and pulled another UR. Wasn't in the first pack, and I only got the one UR in 3 or 4 packs.

I then played a bunch of games (almost 2 hours?), and finally came back to the store at the end for some more APs. First card pulled a UR, following the strategy I kept opening again, 4th card pulled a UR. That's where I ended.

In the various store visits I also bought some RP/VP to stock some other gear, and bought a PSP in there somewhere as well to try my luck. In all I spent around 1.5mil credits, for 4 UR cards, which again is a great drop rate (>25%), and much better than historically when I used to buy packs as soon as I had enough credits.

if the packs were as random as people claim, then they wouldnt give the same things to multpile people at the same time right?

been testing that aspect of it with a group of friens. four of us opening the same packs at the same time at various times in the day, we were getting the same characters/weapons/UR's.

didnt seem very random to me.....

Over the last couple of days I've bought 5 AP and gotten 4 UR in them.  Bought singly as credits were earned.

I use this strategy, always have. It's also the only way I have had any luck with UR's in this game.

Seems to work with regular SPs too.

I'm wondering if the AP drop rate is just overall better. Like I said, never bought any before, bought my first 9 last night, for 3 URs.

I am exactly the same at this point. My long term average is somewhere between 3% and 4% for UR drops in SP/PSP. Since I've been opening packs this way in groups, my drop rate is closer to 20%.

Could just be a long term averaging out of what should have happened, or maybe the drop rates in the store have been adjusted, but either way it all changed when I started opening packs this way, so that's what I keep doing for now.
