Just finished DA2, it felt rushed - even if the ideas were good, DA3 better not be rushed...

I just finished DA2 and the only real problem I saw, was that it felt rushed - the ideas and intentions behind the game were actually very interesting.

I hope that the DA3 team realize that time and maturation was really the only thing holding back DA2's really unique and interesting ideas, concepts and framework.

Having just finished DA2, here is my thoughts on DA3

Worst case scenario:

DA3 play it safe with a generic DA:O style plot ignoring all the ideas in DA2, but it will be rushed

Best case scenario:

DA3 takes all of the new ideas from DA2 and works hard on refining them so they end up taking the genre in a new direction. They take time developing these ideas and only release the game when it's absolutely ready.

Mark my words, if any fans gets even a sniff of this game being made under the labor whip, rather than the labor of love we expect - well, I expect we will lose DA almost entirely ):

Yeah DA2 tried out some new things which could have gone really well, but for whatever reason largely didn't. Maybe lack of time, or resources, or whatever. Still, there were some things worth saving.

It sounds like DA3 is supposed to be a bit of a fusion of the first two games. I must admit I'm curious as to what was decided worked in DA2 and what didn't. I have my own opinions, of course. But it looks like we're not going to find out for several months yet.

the developers have acknowledged missteps with DA3.

I expect the game will have elements of both games.

Exactly what ideas in DA2 are going to lead the genre forward? Unless this direction you're talk about is backwards. Ho ha ho ha ho. But really, the only thing that stands out as unique is the time skips.

Havent I seen this thread before? Last thread you opened on this subject ended up locked, do you really expect this one will end any better? DA2's problems ran far deeper than just the game being rushed, just what exactly are you proposing DA3 should take from DA2?

"Feels rushed" is so vague and subjective, it can't be judged until the game is released. So please post this thread after release if you feel it's still appropriate.

End of line.
