.... Plz Bioware?

No seriously, I get sick of seeing Sheploo's face everywhere.  No offense to the actual Mark Vanderloo, but ain't nothin' wrong with a little feminine swag.

Was wondering when this would show up....

Male Shepard is the Mass Effect poster boy, you're gonna see his face everywhere.

I wished they put a silhouette of an ambiguous person... It could work!

Not after ME3...

I support this as well. I won't use a banner that has his face on it; it drives me nuts.

NO, Sheploo is sexy... Deal with it!

But they should really change the design of both banners, specially Best of the Best... It looks like a random pic with some crazy effects added via PS (Well, all banners are like that, but this one is TOO obvious).

Nah, they finally gave FemShep a fair slice of the marketing pie for ME3.  As an advocate of player choice and strong female leads, I'd like for the trend to continue.

They gave her a bit of attention, but not as much. The male Shepard trailers came first, he's on the front of the case (originally, I know Female Shepard is on the FLIP side), and they still use him for almost everything. The only time they actually use a Femal Shepard in marketing or promotional images is when so many people complain about it and they do what they can to appease the hungry demon creature that is the BSN.

I'm not saying some FemShep banner support is a bad idea, just that people that CONSTANTLY whine when Male Shepard is used for anything because in their mind FemShep is the one true god, when Bioware sees the Male Shepard as default. They can use what they want, and most companies wouldn't have released a trailer because some of the fans got all rage face because they didn't like an aspect of it.

It COULD work!!

Or, they can have a silhouette of someone under a blanket... Or a wolf!
Or stick people... One side has a group of stick people, and the other has a lone stick person...

Aesthetically there's a way around this and make it ambiguous. Zoom in the figure so that it shows from the neck up to the middle of the forehead, and have Shepard wear the N7 Breather Helmet with a tinted visor.

But on a more important note, I rather they be focusing on game balance changes, bug fixes and everything else. Redesigning the look of banners shouldn't take precedence over the rest in my opinion.

That's the thing, though: the media is so obsessed with appealing to the least common denominator that they forget that everyone else exists.  Unless you're the one actually making stuff, the only way to make a change is to make some noise about it.

(Scary fact: Hollywood actually dissuades people from making more inclusive movies.)

1. FemShep IS the One True God, you heathen.  You'd better get to genuflecting before I have you stoned for your blasphemous ways.

2. Yes, I always liked that Bioware has a better ear to their fanbase than most.

Oh, come on.  All you have to do is open up the image file, go to the layer with Sheploo, and swap it out for FemShep.  Including visual tweaking and everything, it'd take 20 minutes, tops.  I imagine creating a "select banner version" tag would take little effort as well.  File size would also be comparatively small, and thus it would easily fit in with a later patch.

Balance guys don't even work in the graphics department, seriously.

@Zardoc: I keep forgetting I need to specify when I'm using playful self-satire on the internet.

Admiral, first things first: that article disgusted me so bad that I closed it halfway through and cleared my history. Second, I really hope you weren't serious about the "heathen" comment. Third, I think that the Male Shep fans actually outnumber the FemSheps (casual male gamers and whatnot, plus people in my boat), just that the FemShep fans were more vocal because, well, they didn't get anything. And lastly, yes, Bioware is awesome.

Completely serious, BUMM.  Completely.

Being outnumbered doesn't mean you don't deserve equal treatment.

And lastly, yes, Bioware is awesome.

Not as awesome as they were a couple years ago, but still awesome nonetheless.

Just saying that the banner looks awesome to me. It would probably look awesome to me even if default Shepard was female. Just sayin'.

Oh, I know it doesn't. I think I may have misread you as saying that the FemSheps were more numerous. My bad. Like I said, I would support it. I would always support more customization. My point was never to bash on FemShep. Sorry if you originally though that, and that goes to everyone, not just Admiral.

Hey, no problem.  I fully realize that the ME3MP community is EXTREMELY male-dominated*, and not once did your comments hint of bashing.

*Although the player's gender usually matches their Shepard's gender, there are definitely guys that like FemShep and girls that like BroShep.  I personally enjoy playing both.

As a ferm supporter of everything that AdmiralCheez says, add a FemShep Best of the Best Banner you Biopants guys youz. I like the Manshep banner a lot, I mostly play sheploos after all, but the Mass Effect banner should be a bit customizable BECAUSE YOU WORK/GRIND YOUR ASS OFF TO GET IT!
