Hello,
The EA customer support people directed me to report this bug on these forums. Apparently, they only help "with issues with the game" whatever that means. The bug is repeatable in the PC version, even with the latest 1.02a patch installed.
The bug occurs the quest "Broken Circle." Right as soon as the player enters the Mage Tower, he must speak to Greagoir, the Templar Knight Commander, in order to find out what's going on. The Templars have locked the entrance door, and the player cannot progress until he speaks to Greagoir.
The bug is this: If a certain dialog progression is chosen as the player speaks with Greagoir, the locked door will NOT unlock, and the player cannot progress, and no amount of speaking to Greagoir will fix it. The player's only option is to load a saved game, and speak to Greagoir again.
To reproduce the bug, the player should first speak to Greagoir once, selecting any choice except the ones that offer to help. End the discussion with the last choice "I have to consider this."
Next, speak with Greagoir again, and this time select "The Circle cannot be left like this. I will help you."
Then, when the next dialog menu appears, select "3. I must consider this." again, and Greagoir will end the dialog.
However, speaking to him again, this time the choice "I will help you." does NOT appear, and the player is locked out of progressing further. The dialog is supposed to repeat with the "I will help" choice every time the player exits to consider the options, use the vendor, etc. Without that choice, the main door into the Tower remains locked, and the quest will stall at that point.
