Well as noted, he's been in origins & DA2, is voiced by the brilliant Greg Ellis and has a personality the reminds people of Alistair, if Alistair stayed a devout templar, honestly i wouldn't be shocked at this point if Cullen turns out to be the son of Wynn(sp? whatever the old lady from origins) unless they went into that is Asunder, i dunno
He's a dorky, broody, sensitive charm kinda character, thus fan girl bait (and some guys to *cough*)
Looks like there's quite a difference between playing a female mage and a non mage in the dialouge then.

Oh, this thread again?
People like stuff you don't necessarily like. Ask sincere questions like a big kid, sure. But "juvenile" and "dumb" are just straight-up insults that anyone could apply to anyone for liking anything. The only thing assertions like that prove is that you're not necessarily mature enough to live and let live.
Dragon Age is entertainment. Let people be entertained, even if it doesn't appeal to you.
Get over yourself, I didn't insult anyone, just asked a question because I didn't get what was so special about Cullen and I got the answer (different dialouge and so on if you play a female mage).

Whoa, whoa - easy there. Aren't there about fifteen other people who have responded to this thread? And haven't some of them been pretty downright nasty? if you were, in fact, asking "sincere questions like a big kid," we don't have any problem.M25105 wrote...

I don't know, but I've heard those Cullen fan's were going to being preforming kidnappings, ritual sacrifices, and brainwashing techniques on some of the BSN members to convince Bioware to make him a love interest.
Aw man, you gave the plan away! I had my ritual knife all polished especially 'n' everything! *Sulks*

There is no "big deal". There's a small group of fans who like him (a lot!) and want to see him return, but there are almost more posts complaining about people asking for Cullen to return than there are posts asking for him to return. Yes, he is a minor character in the series, but this is hardly an aberration on these forums.
Pretty much this.
Honestly OP, there's not that many of us. It's other people making a big deal out of it that's bringing him to everyone's attention.

True. And we're pretty much content to stay in our hole. Can't remember the last time anyone made an "OMG Cullen SOO AWESOME!! XXX" topic in the forums. We keep the discussion pretty well to the DAII Cullen fan thread, where it's actually on-topic.LolaLei wrote...

Now I know (well sort of know, since I haven't seen it myself due to not having ever played a female mage), I just thought it was strange when I saw Cullen always getting mentioned at companion and LI threads cause I never saw that part. All I saw was a run of the mill templar.

If you're truly curious, he gets a lot more screentime in DA2 where he's integral to the endgame. I would start there in your quest for knowledge.M25105 wrote...

If Mass Effect's 'Refund Guy' can have a fanbase, Cullen shouldn't surprise anyone.
Now while you're here, romancable Bann Teagan please. He's been such a tease for two games now.

IDK. I never understood his devout following. He was never anything too special or memorable in comparison to other characters. I do notice several homosexual gamers tend to be crushing on him. He has a fair share of female fans, but most of what I see are men for some reason. Possibly the church boy taboo fantasy of forbidden fruit. I do look forward to seeing him again in DA3, as it's always good to see a familiar face.
... Well, he does have nice hair! But anyway, we love our Cullen thread boys!

We have only two guys who regularly visit our thread, and one is straight. Must of us are women. There are maybe 10 altogether who regularly visit the thread. Quite the raving masses, I know.
Btw just say "gaymers"; it will make you sound cool.

LOL That was awesome! Just ran across that deleted sound clip from DA2 where Teagan would have commented on how "special" the Warden was. Love that stuff.

Hahaha:lol: There are a lot of under-appreciated hotties in DA universe. Teagan, Bran (YES BRAN!), Nathaniel... OMGNOMNOM. They all deserve their own threads as far as I'm concerned.
I'm surprised no one ever started a Cassandra thread.

Beyond that, there's the fact that he's one of the only sane people (especially templars) you encounter in DAII, and the way he stands up to Meredith (especially if you side with the Templars) is a ridiculously awesome man moment.

I was unaware. I post mostly in ME threads and occasionly drop by here. Most of support sigs and posts about Cullen I see usually come from gaymers, but it doesn't surprise there are a lot more women. Gaymers on BSN seem to be rather outspoken on the romances they like/want; Cullen, Cortez, and Kaidan. But anyways, glad to see a good chunk of female gamers.
