Wait, I tought that Anders was the poor man's Alistair? Only, you know, a mage(and angsty).

I'm assuming we'll discover his big deal during the romance scene.

The big deal with Cullen is that he is markedly less crazy in DA2 than in Origins. (Perhaps even, sane?) He helps you fight against Meredith. He's a pretty significant upgrade in pixelated looks in comparison to the weird pixel putty that turned out to be Alistair and Teagan. And he has a fantastic voice actor. Plus, templar + mage = super angsty LI!
I'm fairly certain that there's only one circumstance under which you get that epilogue slide, and it's if you're a mage and use your boon to ask for freedom from the Chantry. Which means that epilogue slide doesn't happen very often. In addition, the devs have repeatedly stated that the epilogue slides are not canon, so the Cullen you meet in DA2 never went on that killing spree.KiwiQuiche wrote...
I'll never get it. He's a spaz in the origin, goes loony at the circle, then kills innocent mage apprentices 'cause he's a paranoid nutcase. Then in DA2 he shows up and rants on how mages are just animals that need to be locked up to my Mage Hawke. Ass.
If he does show up on DA3 I hope I can Murder Knife him.
Purely based on guesswork and the fact that BioWare likes to screw around with player emotions, I think he'll be less crazy than Origins but possibly more crazy than DA2. I'm not sure. Maybe some sort of PTSD? Which would certainly be understandable, since the guy was tortured at the hands of blood mages and then had to turn on his own commander after a year of questioning whether she was right or not.Maria Caliban wrote...
If BioWare brings him back for DA:I as a LI, do you think he'll still be 'markedly less crazy?'
My assumption is that he'll be even more crazy and/or die horribly in Act 2 to show you how evil [badguy] is. Then again, Teonia (sp?) is writing him so maybe the rest of the BioWare group hasn't corrupted her yet.

Ah, and here we have the bold and sometime dangerous Fangirl. A varied and adaptable breed, the Fangirl comes in all shapes and sizes. You’ll know them for the fevered, somewhat glazed look of their eyes.
She’s scented something… Look at that sudden focus. She’s on him now mates!
Look over there. Behind that rock. Is that??? Oh, Maker it’s poor Ser Cullen again. The lad is cowering and crying. He knows what’s coming bless his heart. What the poor lad doesn’t know is that tears will only whip the Fangirl into further frenzy. They tend to view them as a sign of manly sensitivity you see.
My but Cullen’s been at this long enough. The chap should know better…
OH!!!
OH!!! She got him now!!!!
Run Ser Cullen!!! Run your knickers off!!!!
(The crew runs huffing and puffing trying to keep up with that action as it plays out before them.)
We round the bend and come upon a tragic and heart wrenching scene. On the ground dear listeners lays a broken and franticly pinned Ser Cullen. We bear witness to the sheer horror and desperation in his eyes as he continues to struggle.
You know maybe he should rethink that armor must make it even harder to get away. Ah but it never helped the Arishok to get away, now has it? Oh well no matter now then is it?
Our predator sits perched on the downed preys back merrily pecking away at a laptop.
Where in the void did she keep that hidden? /sigh another mute point dear listeners…
The world of fan fiction is wider today. For better or worse.
Poor Ser Cullen…
I don't see the differance in a bunch of ladies salivating over DA hotties and guys that drool over the ladies. It is what it is. Besides how many video games feature scattily clad ladies. So there's no saying the the male population doesn't enjoy a good oogle now and again. It's only natural XD.
Male gamers do it too (i.e. Tallis and Bella). Maybe it's more accurate to say that a subset of both genders likes to flirt and leave the broad gender-based generalizations to statisticians.samgurl775 wrote...
Female gamers tend to latch onto any male NPC that you can flirt with (ie Teagan and Nathaniel). Up until I started reading here regularly, whenever I saw Cullen mentioned I would just think, "who?"

I don't know. I forgot he was the same guy from the tower in DAO until like my third playthrough of DA2. He's a loser anyway. Not vicious enough for my liking.

I am not a fan of Cullen.
A creepy stalker infatuated with a young girl while she is growing up in the circle who later goes nuts and hates all mages everywhere viewing them as less then human.
You never know though, that does kind of fit the role of your typical bioware male LI. Alistair being non repulsive and sane went against the norm not with it.
