I apologise, It wasn't my intention to turn into a rant.

My apologies as well. It's just frustrating when you're trying to discuss the merits and implications of the endings (which were clearly always intended to be open to interpretation) and someone jumps in and says it doesn't really matter.  ;-)

God, that scene was so out of place, so awful.

Buzz mother****ing Aldrin is an American hero. He deserved better than a poorly dialogued, out of place scene for a half baked conclusion to what was supposed to be one of the most incredible, amazing climaxes in storytelling history.

As cool as I imagine Bioware thought it would be to round off their trilogy with a voiceover from Buzz, all I took from that little scene is "buy more DLC".  Same with the message that followed.  They have no other impact on the story.

Because on synthesis and control the reapers stay a live a Shepard dies, and they do my Shepard life a living hell, so screw then... I choose me over a few psychopaths synthetics.

Plus I like to win!

As stated before i like to win. Victory for me means destroy my enemy. This is achieved only on Destroy ending so for me the other two options are defeats. I don't care nor want to understand the Reapers, they kill us we kill them. Freedom and self-determination are only assured in Destroy ending. Sorry for EDI and Geths but synthetics can be rebuilt later on. I'm an organic and i know were my allegiance lies.

Victory at any cost.

Because, in my opinion, it is the only sure way to end the Reaper threat.  Control and Synthesis are are thrown at the last minute as options meant to distract Shepard from his true mission: blowing the Reapers back to hell.

Let's see:

- Our objective all along was to destroy the Reapers
- Control is both A) producing an eternal Shepard police state and B) what we were warned against in the form of the Illusive man
- Synthesis: is a horrifying act of technological necromancey, and specifically against the concept that races can coexist without having to alter what they are.
- Refusal: is a non-ending, and a middle finger to the entire audience from a spurned writer.
Edit - I forgot one: It's the least physically impossible

So yeah, the term "least awful" has never been more fitting.

Destroy is bad. The others are probably worse (the possibility remains that Control could turn out better but it really, really doesn't feel trustworthy).
