Rather than merrily chatting away with blood spattered all over their faces, lips and even teeth?

Dog totally did that for you in DA:O if you asked him to "clean up this bloody mess."

'Course, the idea of my mabari liking darkspawn blood off of me was so freaking disgusting that I pretty much never did it, but hey. ;)

I likes it! I think Morrigan especially suited the blood.

This goes to the larger issue of how dialogue scenes come off as sort of out of place in general. Like everyone has agreed to say "Time Out!" and chat. Previously, I've suggested adding some activity to the dialogue scenes (maybe even interactive activities) and a timer (which did not go over well to put it mildly). I still hold that these suggestions are feasible and worthy of consideration. It works brilliantly in 'The Walking Dead Game' and there's no denying how popular that game has become.

Midway through my first full play through I found out you could adjust the gore levels. The blood all magically vanished thereafter.

You've ever been into a battle. The blood of your enemy is their to feel what you've accomplished.
Also it could be your blood (well the characters blood), and you are still bleeding.

Let there be blood D':

Honestly, I always play with persistent gore off in part because of the ridiculousness of exactly this, and in part because (and as much as I like Fenris, he makes this offense the most obvious) there would be blood splatters all over them but somehow, not in their hair.

I gotta know what kind of shampoo they have in Thedas that repels blood.  Could come in handy someday!

Personally I quite like the blood.  It bothers me a little to have everyone be pristine and pretty after a fight.

It's just the blood on the face that I don't like, and only after the battle.

Yup the blood setting Is the first thing I've turned off in Dragon Age. Ever since my very first Origin's character, where my noble's thrilling battle with small rats left his team looking like refugees from Carrie's prom. Apparently rats are dimensional conduits to the Plane of Blood.

DA2 was a slight improvement in that the blood faded relatively quicky. But the fading didn't happen during cutscenes. They really need to tone it down to less rediculous levels.

You can always just turn the blood spatter off in the options menu. I've always thought it was a silly feature anyway.

I thought it was okay in DAO but DA2 felt a bit overboard.

Yep.

Just toggle Persistent Gore to "off"  One of the first things I did in both games

Lyrium extract. Same stuff he uses to dye it.

If the blood splatter simply didn't affect faces, it would be fine...

Wouldn't mind the option not to get your gear cleaned up. What if you are like one of those athletes who doesn't like to wash their gameday jersey or lucky socks? By the end of the game, you should have enough 'ripe' gear to get a nice little buff.

Give me blood! Blood! Gallons of the stuff! Give me all that I can drink and it will never be enough!

Never bothered me that much.

I find it interesting that in one thread gamers are asking for nudity and in this thread no blood on the face during cutscenes. You just slaughtered the enemy you would think that blood would cover just about everything including your own blood if injured. During a real battle the combatants normally did not have time to clean up so they spoke to each other through blood covered faces. Sometimes they would wipe their eyes to keep the blood form obscuring vision. That is realistic.

Spot on. Not being bloody after a battle would be like putting on underwear for sex. ohh wait.. :)

If you never cleaned your armour or weapons, you shouldn't get a buff, you should get a debuff.  Rusted swords and armour , and stiff, ruined leather don't work as well as properly maintained gear.  Just sayin'!

Doesn`t the blood splatters get removed if you turn the violence level in the game down?
