I have a Female Dwarf as my Warden.
I hardened Alistair, but I don't want him to be king.
I want to kill Loghain but nominate Anora by herself to take the throne.
Is it possible for me to stay in the romance with him and go into the landsmeet nominating just Anora and have him appear in DA2 as a Grey Warden?

I know that if you kill Loghain Alistair stays as your companion. I'm not sure if that means that he shows up in DA2, but a dead Loghain and a non-King Alistair means that he'll stay a Warden.

Sure, just don't have Alistair duel Loghain in the Trial by Combat, or he'll kill him outright and the Landsmeet will declare Alistair king without any of your input. So, yeah, execute Loghain yourself (or with another companion), and a hardened Alistair can remain a Grey Warden with you. =)

Yes, it's possible! Don't tell Alistair ahead of time that you're going to choose Anora. Don't let Alistair duel Loghain. Save before talking to Morrigan at Redcliffe.

And he does get a sweet cameo as a Grey Warden in DA2, even mentions his lady Warden (if the romance flags are still active at the time of your import).

Yup, got to the end of DAO with Queen Anora, Alistair not king but still hardened and in love with Zal, the Femdwarf who made the ultimate sacrifice.
