I didn't see it noted here, but is the final quest in the pickpocket line for "crime wave", where you're to steal Loghain's crown, bugged? The only ways that I can complete it are:

1) Kill everyone
2) Intimidate the guards and the guy carrying it in conversation

Those 2 don't really fit well with the intent of the mission, I'd not think. I had Lilliana maxed in pickpocket and stealth but it seems that it's impossible to sneak into the room regardless as the encounter triggers go off even when stealthed. Am I missing something?

No.

AFAIK,  Slim doesn't even suggest that you go about this quest without hurting anyone.  He warns you that these are Logain's elite and that you might have to fight...
