Even though the VGAs are the largest joke in award show history, I have to stand by Mass Effect. It's a hell of a well made game, and at the end of the day, it deserves game of the year simply for taking the astronomically insane amount of hate. On its own forums! By its own fans!
I have to disagree on the very points you made. Me3 was and still is a buggy game, has some atrocious animations obvious sprites low res textures and compared to other games released this and last year looks sub par (imo). The music is its best feature but I was buying a game not music tracks. Its a good game but has to many faults to be game of the years even before the traffic lights ending is taken into account. The hate shown on the forums and almost every where it was discussed should show its not goty for many people. The devs should take criticism and learn from it and make a better game and I hope they will with me4. However the reviews and of both leviathan and omega have shown they haven't implemented many changes yet.
I do like me3 for the most part right up to the end but like is not goty.
