They didn't win GOTY for ME1, ME2 or DA:O either (Origins wasn't nominated for GOTY). They did win Best RPG for ME1, ME2 and ME3 though, so I really don't see what point you are trying to make.

I'm not really a RPG fan more of a Shooter type person here and want a good story along with it. I was Hoping Mass Effect to win GOTY or one of the other games. That Walking Dead isnt really a game it was more like a book in ways. I played the demo. I'm glad Mass Effect Won RPG of the year but should of Won Shooter too, I hope Mass Effect 4 be more like The Original but improved and better. Mass Effect 3 is a great and fun game either ways.

Objecitve reasoning when it comes to game preferances? You know those two terms are mutually exclusive, right?
Ok, lets see. Give me core elements of what RPG is, and than show how compared to Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3, Torchlight or Xenoblade Chronicles did it better.
If I say that, compared to competition ME deserved to win, it has nothing to do with fanboyism. Rather, it has all to do with the fact that we still don't have established characteristics of an RPG that gaming community has agreed upon. That vacuum of RPG "truth" is than filled by each owns preferances upon which the votes have benn cast.

1) An underdog company like Telltale deserved every award they got. Telltale did an amazing job with The Walking Dead.
2) Mass Effect 3 isn't an RPG? How is Mass Effect 3 not an RPG? I was able to role play Shepard into my personal liking; I was able to change Shepards looks, name, armor, weapons, and romance and recruit characters that I liked along with making decisions that I thought was best for the galaxy...
3) This year was in no way a bad year for role playing games. You had awesome RPGs like Mass Effect 3, Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, The Witcher 2, Dragons Dogma, Borderlands 2, (Which is basically an rpg if you think about it.) The Walking Dead, Xenoblade Chronicles, etc, etc... It's called not being a biased fanboy-girl and playing different games...
As a hardcore gamer and big fan of RPGs in general, I have to say that a portion of this fan-base really sucks and is one of the many things that is wrong within gaming world. I'm ashamed to even post in these forums with all this nonsense.
