In the DA3 forum we have threads on what the proper identifier is for Qunari, the Chantry and magic, what the Litany of Adralla actually does, the Tranquil, Sandal's prophecy, and griffons, just to name a few.

None of these things are specific to DA3, although there might be a relation. Given that the world of Thedas is incredibly complex, wouldn't we be better off discussing these things in a forum specific to the lore of Thedas, rather than cluttering a game-specific thread with topics that may or may not have anything to do with the actual game?

I like this idea too, pretty good suggestion. It would be nice to consolidate a lot of lost information in something like this, from games passed without blowing off the dusty every time you anna talk about old characters.

Great idea! Sometimes, the really interesting discussions of lore disappears among the large amount of threads where people argue about this and that. The nice thing about lore discussions (except for the fact that lore is interesting) is that people in those threads are not arguing with each other.

It is too early for such a forum. Once we have released actual game details next year, this may be possible. Until then it is general DA lore and that can be done here or in teh DAII boards.

I think it would be quite cool to have a general DA lore forum that spans
the whole series and hence is set apart from any specific game. Same with Mass Effect, actually...

Someplace where fans could really get into the minutia of the DA-verse. Help other fans--like myself--keep it all straight.

And DA overall has such interesting lore. Nice idea, OP.

Yes, exactly. I think there should be a forum called Dragon Age Lore and another forum called Mass Effect Lore, and each forum spans all the games in that series and isn't tied to one particular game heading. I think this would be a great idea, and I know I for one would probably be quite active in those forums. It would be a lot easier to find threads about stuff I'm interested in that way, rather than going through all the threads in this General forum, which can be about anything.

Love this idea. I love discussing the lore and I had difficulty figuring out where the best place was sometimes under the old DA2 system. Was it spoilery? Only sorta spoilery? General  or plot related?  This would make it simple and would also help keep useful threads easier to find. I tend to bookmark  insightful dev posts from the old DA:O forums and such when I find them, but keeping all the lore discussions in one spot and 'current' would be better, IMO.

If by hub you mean "Forum Home >> Lore and Story Forum >>" and then seperate "Dragon Age Lore," "Mass Effect Lore," "Jade Empire Lore," and "KoTOR Lore" sections, that would awesome.  It would also keep those old games visable.  Hint hint!

You have to admit it would be alot easier for the writers to answer question regarding the lore in the Dragon Age universe if they knew where all those threads were being made.

I was going to suggest waiting for the actual game to actually be out, but it looks like people beat me to it. To bolster that opinion... well... as I've said in the first sentence, it's pointless right now.

Until the game comes out, this current forum is all we need. It handles conjecture, suggestions, complaints (which sometimes go hand-in-hand with suggestions), and crazy, pointless threads, which are mostly just for fun until there's some new DA based thing we can do to pass the time/give us our Dragon Age fix.

Exactly. In addition, there is quite a lot of information in the books that, while not necessarily canonical, isn't specific to a single game. Right now, it's hard to separate it or know where to post, except to just pick the most recent DA forum to post in. The Qunari vs. Kossith discussion could just as easily have gone in the DA2 forums, but it's not really game-specific.

To be honest, I'd like to see a forum overhaul with the DA and ME forums consolidated with lore forums for each. I say that without having played ME but assuming there is enough in-game lore to make an extra-game forum worthwhile.

Definitely this! As somone else mentioned, the lore of a game series spans multiple games and does not fit in a single game forum. Not to mention all the books and comics. And I am tired of sifting through all the hate threads and wish-list threads to find the most interesting discussions on these forums. Not that wish-lists threads aren't good when you are in the mood for them, but it should be easy to find the kind of discussions you are interested in at the time. I have precious little spare time, as it is...

It does feel like it's time for the ME trilogy boards to be consolidated, General Discussion, Lore, Characters and Fan Creations. When ME4 is more than rumours they can open up a seperate Spoilers forum for that. The same for DA but perhaps with sub-forums in General for the different games as DA games share a setting not a PC.

I agree to this fully. A forum for lore is good and I think its great to see things like that for the community to look over. Also make it more accessible for the people too.

It would be nice to have a forum here on BSN that contained all codex info, maps, etc. It would clear out a lot of the more general topics about the DA world from the DA3 specific forum.
