Not sure if this was posted yet. Time made a Best Of list and then did a poll asking if a game should definitely be on the list or shouldn't be on the list....

Mass Effect got the most votes "for" and "against" it.....by far. ("For" heavily outweighing "against)

I think the editors know ME3 has kicked up probably the most publicity any game has ever. So they capitalize on that regardless of whether they really do believe it's one of the greatest games. The game itself has had such a polarizing impact on the gaming community, editors know if they want to attract attention to their magazine then bringing up ME3 will spark something, which is evident in the sheer number of people who voted for and against.

I don't care to discuss whether it really is because that's a maze of subjectivity that can be argued in round-abouts for eternity. I'm just wary that editors will see it as a 'hot-topic' to capitalize on and attract people for their own ends.

I am not trying to bash ME3, but it shouldn't be considered one of the best ever. Was it good? Of course. Was it great? Sure, why not. But glitches, a clunky cover system, and wildly exaggerated promises should make it clear this is not one of the best. Mass Effect 2 was closer to making this list, if you're looking for my two cents.

Its a shame that ME2 isn't even on the list, to be honest. Especially with all the problems you just listed, as well as that horrible quest system.

Deserved IMHO. The game also has a 4 star rating on Xbox. Just because this place is an echo chamber filled with shrieking trolls doesn't mean that most people don't recognise Mass 3 as an awesome game.

WTF!? More people voted against Final Fantasy Tactics than for it? I think that's the bigger crime here. And they've listed ME3 instead of the superior ME2, with more people voting for than against?

Now that's a sh*tty list of games. 

Mass Effect deserves to be on a list of greatest games (the third least of all, out of the three, unfortunately), but it's a really poor list of games to be perfectly fair, and a really poor way to decide on what deserves to be there. 

For example, Shadow Of The Colossus has barely any votes. That game is f*ckin' classic, one of the best of all time, and it has almost as many down-votes as up. Shame on humanity.

Arkham City's, Chrono Tirgger's and FF Tactics ranks and votes are a ????ing joke. No Baildur's Gate II, no Dragon Age: Origins, no other ME games, No Witcher 2, no Skyrim. This list is terrible.

Decisions that players made in the first two games — both large and small — are felt at every turn in Mass Effect 3 as Commander Shepard tries to unite every species and save themselves from mass extinction

About all the needs to be said about how seriously this should be taken.
