Also, what the hell is "Hunt the Wumpus" and what did it do to people to get this treatment?

I am surprised it's on that list, frankly.

If you guys don't vote on this list, and you don't try and bring up any of your complaints to the magazine, than don't act like it's some big crime, since you did nothing to try and resolve or address it.
BTW, I just sent them a tweet about this, so at least I tried to do something about how I felt on the list rather than **** and moan here and continue to be unproductive at all.
Why are there so many games that are missing from this list? Like dragon age? Or Knights of the old republic? Baulders gate? etc.
EDIT: Aw crap KOTOR is on the list, should of brought up fallout instead. Damnit.

Hunt the Wumpus is a text-based maze game in Basic, back in 1972, where you were, well, hunting the wumpus basically.
I am surprised it's on that list, frankly.
Ah, thanks. I am still baffled as to how it managed to accumulate such an impressive amount of negative votes though. Looks like back in that time everyone was a critic.

I think its people who have no clue what they are doing.
Which is why I don't take any negative votes seriously. I take them as people being trolls.

ME3 defeated games like Arkham City and classics like Super Mario Bros? What bizarro universe have I landed in?
FFVII and Ocarina of Time not wholly dominating that list makes me wonder the validity. Not to necessarily say those are worthy of such escalates but their respective fanbases are immense. I also agree of the ME series, ME2, despite the terrible pacing and inconsistency of its main plot, was the best overall.

People are allowed to question the valadity of such a poll regardless of if they're voting on it or not. The fact that they left some truly fantastic games out of their poll for one. Also who came up with this list of 100. That and there are so many people who came in voted once or twice and left. How can you make up an accurate top 100 when people aren't even bothering to vote on most of the list.

Than do so, question the people who made the poll like I did. Don't just stay here on the bsn, complaining here where your complaints won't be seen by anyone who can answer them or address them.
That's like me being fed up with a law, and instead of sending a letter, talking to anyone knowledgable, starting a petition, or even simply bringing it to important peoples attention, I just sat around in a bar and drank while complaining about this to anyone who'd listen.
The complaints would ring much more true and much less attnetion grabby if the people making them did something about it, or tried at least.

Complaints are rarely about that thou. The majority are just to make people feel better in the long run. It's like people saying a movie is bad and coming up with valid reasons as to why. How many of those people write a letter to the company or to the critic who recomended it.

Considering ME3 is the conclusive game to the trilogy, and the fact that Bioware made so many of it's variables cross over from game to game is the reason it's on this list. I know of no other game series that did what Bioware did with Mass Effect.
the walking dead, but we will see how that ending turns out on november 20th

Mass Effect 2? No. 3? Well...almost there. More than 50% spot on. This list has got my respect.

'Pac Man' got 10k 'Definitely' and 100 'No Way' - Ratio: 10,000:100 or 100:1 = 100:1'
The Oregon Trail' : 10k 'Definitely' 1.4k 'No way' - Ratio: 10,000:1,400 or 100:14 = 50:7
'Poing' 10k 'Definitely' 400 'No way - Ratio: 10,000:400 or 100:4 = 25:2
'Mass Effect 3' - 9k 'Definitely' 4k 'No Way' - Ratio: 9,000:4,000 or 9:4
'Hunt the Wumpus' - 600 'Definitely' 5k 'No Way' - Ratio: 600:5,000 or 6:50 = 3:25
'Adventure' -2k 'Definitely' 4k 'No Way - Ratio: 2,000:4,000 or 1:2
'Wizardy:...' 900 Definitely' 3.4k 'No way' - Ratio: 900:3,400 or 9:34
All this seems to show is that when people voted Yes for a genuinly good game, they tended to vote much heavier, and in mass. It really is deceptive how many Votes that ME3 has, because it's counter-balanced by just how many people wouldn't nominate it for such a catagory. It really could be used by either side to support either arguement.

In other words another poll which proves nothing about the overall reception, but people are going to use it to trumpet whatever opinon it seems to indicate as fact.Katosu wrote...
