Really?
Someone Rezzed this crap thread?
Goku Vs. Superman is a Versus battle worth debate, Hell Samus Aran Vs. Master chief is a better battle.
Garrus is a sidekick, He can't even take on Mercs by himself.
Chief would've been able to walk through them (He fought off the insurrection before Harvest so yeah)
any Spartan could waltz over a Turian without noticing them,
as well as any Freelancer.
Garrus could probably kill the Rookie from ODST but that's about it.

Master Chief plays with explosives comparable to nukes for a living.

That nuke bomb in Halo 2 he drops personally from space and a third one he carries on his back in the open while in combat without giving a single ****.

He fought an army of literally space zombies, an army of multiple species equivalent to all the Mass Effect council species in one army and then fought a race of technologically advanced aliens that have the technology to mutate organic beings in non-organic beings.

The chief would take a **** on the floor and clean up by using Garrus' face like a broom and then after clean his arse with Garrus' face as well.

What has Garrus done?

Failed miserably against 3 small armies of mercenaries while the Chief fought alien empires and a a zombie threat that nearly destroyed the galaxy in the past while apparently originating from another galaxy themselves showing that the Flood also destroyed many species in the past that are not from our galaxy.

Yeah... Garrus is just a fly the Chief swats on a day sunny day chilling in the garden with a pint in his hand.

Good opinion, loved how you debated about who would win in a fight agaisnt the duo and I agree whole heartedly on your analysis of their combat styles and on their close quarters combat abilities, you contributed a lot to this thread and driven it to a whole new level of discussion.

Chief.

Garrus wouldn't even have a chance, its nowhere near a fair fight. Garrus is a failure that needs constant back up, the Chief wins wars on his own.

To me MC and Garrus come from two universes of completely different narratives.
In Halo franchise it's even possible for one soldier to beat hordes and hordes of enemies. In reality, "every swordsman's an ass, when enemies are vast". I'd call MC a mighty Mary Sue, but he's not even a human being, he's a collective emotional state of thousands xbox players worldwide beating uncountable waves of monsters every minute we speak. And I like MC that way.

But ME is about teamwork and there was no reason for introducing a superhero there. Neither Shepard nor any of her/his squad members can do alone things many FPS protagonist does instantly.

By the way, there is a thing about ME characters that was always bothering me. Don't you think that they are mostly defined by what others say about them instead of what they actually do? Many times as characters were referring to my Shepard I had the feeling they're exaggerating. Shepard this, Shepard that, like if (s)he wasn't simply doing what the Journal told ;) I can hardly recall one moment of independent initiative, like "to give the Covenant back their bomb" :)
IMHO even Shepard is less of a Halo badass and more of an awesome diplomat.

Funny thing, while Halo gameplay is quite unreal, the idea of [SPOILERS] Halo array wiping out all organic life in the galaxy seems more believable (imaginable?) than a signal easily converting every organic and synthetic into a hybrid (I mean synthesis).

Well theoretically Chief could plasma-overcharge Garrus' shield and punch his face in with his superior augmented strength. But no matter what, Dumbledore dies.

Threads don't die, they're just missing in action.

Chief wouldn't be so badass without the Armor.

Street Rules? Garrus would win.

^ You don't know anything about there physical augmentations I take it? The Armor is a nice add-on.

SPARTAN-IIs were noted of being capable of running at speeds exceeding 55 km/h or 34.2 mph. The SPARTAN-IIs are capable of lifting three times their body weight, which is double the normal weight of an average human due to the ceramic bone augmentations, in addition to their increased muscle density. Nevermind this makes there bones almost unbreakable.  MC weighs in at 400 pounds (no armor), lifting three times that? Yeah the Turrian has a chance. Put 117 in armor he can flip jeeps and tanks.

Plus blocking gravity hammers killing various Covies in hand to hand, thats not because of the armor any more than the Armor helped the warriors of old cleave a man with a sword.

A SPARTAN-II's reaction time while impossible to chart accurately is estimated to be twenty milliseconds, their reaction times are significantly faster in combat situations or with A.I. assistance. The reaction times of the SPARTAN-IIs are so fast that they are able to think, react and see things happen in slow and fast motion. SPARTAN-IIs are also known for their sharp eyesight being able to virtually see in the dark.

Garrus and his race? Can get beaten down by a slightly better than average fit human. Can't outrun normal humans. Heck are on par with Normal Humans for the most.

Chief out of Armor would kill Garrus as fast as he did those ODST's (IE Special forces who jump out from orbit feet first in metal coffin's) when he was a kid.

yah know I like Garrus. I really do. But this is like a Imperium Ship fighting a Star Destoryer. Or a Sherman Versus an M1-A1. The later is going to blast it to atoms.

As a fan of both Halo and ME, MC would mope the floor with Garrus in five seconds.

I like Garrus but if he was placed in the same situations the chief was in he wouldn't last 10 seconds.

If Master Chief was tasked with carrying Garrus' enormous balls, he might pass the test. Actually fighting the Turian? Pffft..

Ah ha ha ha Chief Killed 3 ODSTs when he was 8 without Armor with his bare hands. When Garrus accomplishes a feat like that, we`ll talk.
