IMO of course.
I honestly don't think DA2's combat is that far off from DD. If DA3 pushed to a combat system similar to DD, I'd be a very happy person. That's where they could use inspiration from DD.

Dragon's Dogma system was definitely horrible. But luckily I ended up with Julien, which was the one I wanted

Just be sure to give him plenty of 'exercise' after and you'll be fine. Otherwise he'll start looking like a very tall Sandal.
