My main fear about multiplayer is that everyone will discover how truly awful I am as a player. There are an awful lot of l33t players on BSN. I'll never be one of them.

Don't worry. This was my fear about ME3's multiplayer but then I found out that there are plenty of bad players out there. We are not alone.

I'll give the DA multiplayer a try but I doubt I'll stick with it. I had preconceptions about the multiplayer in ME3 but it ended up being surprisingly fun. Unfortunately, it got boring quite fast despite all those new maps and characters they kept adding. Bioware needs to offer something other than repetitive gameplay or I'll end up mostly ignoring the multiplayer aspects.

That is good to hear. I am a bad player, so I am reluctant to try multiplayer, which meant I never tried Mass Effect 3’s.

I also hope there are a fair amount of people who do not take the game too seriously; as, when I have tried online games, I always seemed to be matched with people who took the game seriously.

I will probably try multiplayer, but only will keep playing it if the people are fun to play with.

If it allows for more stuff in SP, i will of course. It may even keep busy once i take a break from the SP.

One of the reasons I've actually swapped over to the PS3 from Xbox because of this, since I managed to get DAO&2 for just over £20 new. Cheaper than a years Xbox live subscription.

I don't want MP, I can't fathom it being in anyway useful, more enjoyable than single player, or anything other than a cash grab by EA at the expense of resources better put to use on SP, but if it does end up in the game I've paid for, then I'll play it, at least a bit.

I just hope it has literally no effect on SP.

I'm gonna give it a go.

I wasn't looking forward to MP in ME3 but Bioware did a really good job with it, having a lot of fun so they showed that they can do very good Multiplayer.

No. I quit MMOs and ran and hid among SP RPGs to get away from other players. I still haven't changed my mind on that score. I don't care if it's co-op or wave combat or if playing gets you all the goodies in the world, I am not signing up for a barrage of verbal abuse by complete strangers. Because there always ends up being verbal abuse, that's just how online communities work.

I will probably try it out and get bored of it very quickly. Very few MP's manage to keep my interest

There are, believe it or not, people who are anti-multiplayer ideological partisans.

"The problem with any ideology is that it gives the answer before you look at the evidence."

This thread is full of people doing just that.

And then there are people without gold accounts?

It's incredibly unlikely. I don't use Origin unless I absolutely have to, so being forced to use it to play even the bestest MP game ever is going to be something I have to weigh carefully.

Probably, if someone I know is playing it and asks if I want to as well, or something along those lines. I'm not so enthused by the idea that I'd want to try it out on my own.

Multiplayer isn't really my thing. That's not a criticism. Lots of other things aren't my thing either.

Depends. I thought that i wouldnt touch ME3 MP either, but I did play it a fair bit. If its good enough, why not. The main selling point for me remains the SP though.

Done right I think MP will be possibly the best thing about DA3. Im quite looking forward to it.

Baldurs Gate had it and thats widely considered the greatest RPG ever to many people.  Its lasting value in part due to its multiplayer element.   I have many fond memories of me and my friends battling away years after the game was released.

Depends. I actually didn't care for the combat system in DA2. I liked that they kept the pause for the tactics and that it was more responsive, but beyond that it got real tedious real quick. Mass Effect 3 MP is great because it's fast paced and is a MP w/ ME gameplay mechanics. So if they keep the DA2 system or something similar I that would be a no.

The lasting value of BG had nothing to do with the multplayer at all. Its the modding community, and the sheer replay value of the game itself.
