Even with a high velocity barrel and magazine size armor piercing ammo 4 , it is not great , just a average character can kill better than this setup, it is good on platinium as most are slow boss unit they are easy to hit . Of course it is gold viable but I cant use great to describe it.
Typhoon VIII is not great even on destroyer

Are you using some stabilization mods? I think it needs some like 30% (barrage gear is the best) to work properly if you speed up the fire rate.

You can kill swarmers in platinum with the Typhoon I, so it's op.
Just use other weapon, the typhoon doesn't deserves its UR status (it lost it in the damage multiplier nerf).

I have Typhoon X and the only way i can make it not suck on Gold/Plat is to slap on every mod i can.
lvl IV AP rounds
lvl V AR gear
lvl III AR rail amp
lvl V HVB
lvl V Extended Clip
And use it with a character who has stagger resistence. Typhoon has become a very niche weapon.

Just because someone can't use it effectively does not mean it isn't a great gun. Is at as good as the Harrier? No but it's still excellent when used right.

Why are you using the high velocity barrel along with AP IV? Switch it out the for the regular barrel.
Also using the Harrier with the Ghost feels dirty.... not quite Krysae infiltrator levels, but still...

Typhoon is a great gun on platinum, L2P, guys. And yes, don't mix HVB with AP ammo - it isn't necessary.

It is pretty much designed to be strapped onto the Destroyer - I tend to go Barrage Gear V rather than AR V though and I'll use the HVB but since it doesn't provide extra damage (unlike the Sniper/Shotgun HVB) the Extended Barrel is probably a better choice when using AP rounds.
I prefer it to the Harrier on the Destroyer because of the magazine size but it's not really as good as the PPR (and I've got all the URs at X so it's a fair comparison)... but the PPR doesn't go DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA so I prefer the Typhoon; granted that's not really a sensible reason to prefer it, but hey!
It was always a pretty niche gun because of the weight - now it's even more so.

The Typhoon is quite possibly the best gun when it comes to boss killing. Slap on an EB and AP mod (or AP ammo along with ext. mags) and you're good to go. That being said, I prefer the Revenant.

Typhoon isn't great, it's mediocre. Too heavy and requires long time to kill a tough enemy. So I guess use it with Destroyer, because other weapon specialist classes like Turian Solider or GI will just get stun-locked and killed in 2 seconds.

Why use extended magazine on the typhoon? It already has 100 bullets in the mag, reloading isn't going to kill you or anything.

Because collector and reaper is slow moving easy to hit them with typhoon, vs cerberus and geth its not that easy.
And you know that thee3nd guy ? I heard he is famous , I slighty outscored his Valkyrie+reegar , its very hard ,at first he outscored my salarian inf by 50000 point then i changed to destroyer
