As for a return, I wouldn't mind. She seemed interesting enough, and she did just kind of disappear after her final confrontation.

I'm all for little cameos by characters who don't necessarily always survive the game they appeared in (Ser Cauthrien, Teyrn Loghain, Alistair, Wynne). It's even better when they can give us a small side-quest or two.

Well, she does appear at your funeral if you make the ultimate sacrifice...BronzeMartin wrote...
I've never killed her. I avoid the fights with her everytime, and it's funny because I always think "this is the playthrough where I chop her head off".

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Cauthrien again, the problem is how are we supposed to met her exactly: assuming it's possible to visit Ferelden in DA3, the chances of running into her specifically as opposed to any of the other thousands of random individuals living there are slim to say the least...

As much as I like her, I hope not, I want her VA for the female protagonist and it'd be weird meeting someone with the same voice as you.
I'd prefer her as a female companion, personally, though that's just because I prefer playing male characters. But it would be a good progression for her: Cauthrian (NPC) to Mhairi (temporary companion) to Traynor (NPC romance) to a full-fledged companion. I hope she's on the short list for VA's.

Beating the "impossible fight" and killing her and her small army in the first encounter (after Anora sells you out,) was one of my favorite moments in Dragon Age 2. Right up there with chopping Vaughn's head off while still in your wedding dress and getting the dramatic kill shot on both the High Dragon and the Archdemon.

I'm sort of baffled how such a non entity could be one of someone's favorite characters.
I am as well, but its not like this is the only character that it happens too. Cullen is a minor character getting a lot of love, and he was getting a lot of love before DA2 and filled an even smaller role in the game then Cauthrien did.
