So, what are we going to see from Origins?

With recent confirmations, I'm begining to wonder... it is true that Inquisition is going to have elements from Origins? Until now, we have:

-Forced human protagonist
-Dialogue wheel
-Voiced protagonist
-No Origin stories

Even the customization for companions is watered down (for what we know right now) from origins. And the backgrounds is more a Mass Effect feature than anything else.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding things, but it seems we are going to have a Dragon Age 2+Skyrim thing in 2013.

So, what are we goinf to see coming back from Origins? I hope skills come back, for example. Any info about this? Thanks! ^_^

Too early to draw conclusions. To use a sports analogy, the DA2 features scored a couple runs in the top of the first inning. Plenty of time left.

Nah, Skyrim didn't force you to have a human protagonist.... and it'll probably have better visuals then DA3 to.

I'm expecting DAO content at this point to be "Look PC players we're allowing you to zoom out the camera a bit more! Problem solved right? ... right?" And maybe the weapon swap tab if we're really really lucky.

Too soon to say anything. I'm not sure how you're seeing Skyrim in this though.

They've told us practically nothing... we won't know anything concrete until Spring 2013. They didn't even want to tell us that DA3 was even underway but felt they had to.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for DA:I being much like Origins. The dev team obviously thinks DA2 was a step in the right direction, otherwise they wouldn't be going forward with the defining features of that game.

Actually they are working on some sort of origin/background feature but it will not be playable like the origins stories in DAO but will hopefully have more impact than DAO's "Hello You are an Elf/Dwarf/Human" 'impact'.

They haven't revealed much but as much as a lot of stuff with Origins worked there were things that that DA2 did arguably do better. The Rivalry/Friendship system while not perfect I did like better than in Origins. We will not more in the spring.

I suspect that if you're looking for things that can be discretely laid out as "this will be exactly like it was in DAO and not at all like it was in DA2" you're apt to be disappointed. There won't be much of that. There will be a number of things which find a middle ground, but explaining how and why requires showing-- which is why we intend to wait, lest verbal explanations just leave people asking more questions. There will also be things which we changed for DA2 and which will be iterated on, based upon feedback, but again there's no point in simply describing them. All we've talked about so far are the things we know for certain we won't be having or changing.

So feel free to assume the worst for now, if you like. More info will come sometime next year.

I vote to pretend people who didn't like DA2 don't actually exist.

Boy this erasing people and their preferences sure is fun, I'm glad I cut out the middle-man with my vote.
