I do not have enough things to do today - I actually read it, start to finish. Huh...
Anyways, glad you came upon one of those really good PUGs that don't just go well and end, but also provide you with something memorable (and clearly, you do remember it quite well & in detail). :)

Edit:

was a pleasure to play with, whilst he admitted that he felt a little
out of his depth with gold, he was definitely a fast learner and it
showed that his skills from silver were rapidly adapted to that of gold.
He was a team player that didn't care for his score and was eager to
learn. I couldn't fault him for how polite and courteous he was and
overall, it was great to have him with us. You get what you give, Black
gave his 110%, we were more than happy to reciprocate.

For some reason, this reads like a funeral eulogy. I hope BlackProject is alright.
...I'm sorry.

It sounds like you guys were camping and camping is boring and lame. It also sounds like you guys were babysitting each other, also boring and lame.

J/K. ;)

Good work. Teamwork seems rare in this team-based co-op game.

Why are you sharing this story though?... I'd rather hear about PUG failures

Question to OP - in your manifest i notice that youve maxed all the new weapon mods but not the gold characters. Which packs did you buy to max the weapon mods?

My version of the same story:
Teamwork is good. We stomped their mans.

so to summerize for all you who dont want to read that thesis statement

1. he started with a bad pug who screwed up the spawns and made the run hard

2. he took the good player from said pug and made a new run that was super smooth and organized yay!

somewhere mixed in he had a a run with some really high N7 rankers and it was a good run... he says thanks for the runs whoever the high N7 rankers where.

I speed read the post in about 40 seconds, my accuracy might not be 100%

Gold = stay close, not grenade radius close, but close.

When the squad has been burning clips on a large pack of enemies all coming from one direction... take a peak over your shoulder when you reach the end of a clip. Chances are you'll see another force trying to flank your squad.

Chances are that your squadmate doesn't see that an enemy has spawned behind them, so kill it for them.

If the map's big enough for you to run away... it's often better to run, rather than try to fight your way out of a tight spot. If the enemy manages to flank your squad... try to run and flank the enemy before they pin you down and send in the synch killers.

Another case of why N7 seperates the men from the boys. (not that N7 2K 4K crap people think are high)

Btw N7 10K is just a slight bit above average N7 score. A person who wins/ promotes regularly and buys recruit packs once they max out manifest can have at least 15K N7. All in all glad to hear you encountered the actuall N7 players that shutdown BSNs random made up BS. Curious who it was you played with, there are only 60 10K+ N7 players on Xbox live world wide. I know alot of them.

Oh of course I'm in this thread......you thought I'd let a positive N7 post slide by without tossing in my 3 fiddy?

Met "Sam loves Hannah" on of the top tier ME3 players, his over 11.000 n7 are well deserved, I never played a smoother Gold match, he was awesome!

When you can run around on any map on Gold let me know. Gold is easy and so is Platinum.

My N7, about to breach 11k, was all acquired without recruit pack spam. I prefer to earn those ranks instead of buying them.

I find it rather odd that most players that are high rank like +6000 and above, they suck pretty hard but there are a lot of great high N7 rank players out there that can easily outscore me without effort. You got lucky and good for you, you seemed to find new friends and had awesome time with them, those guys sure were an example of nice players that do communicate.

You have to remember, once you get that high up, you're playing purely for fun and relaxation - Sometimes that means you aren't giving it your all or sometimes you're just messing around with a completely experimental build so that you can try and learn something new.

It's hard to get that high up in N7 without learning a ton of things. Being good at the game is more or less a requirement at that stage, but, players like myself enjoy doing things differently every now and then and sometimes it won't always work out as we'd hoped.

I played several games in Silver as a heavy melee only Volus. Did it work? Well enough. I found it hilarious. God knows what the team I was playing with thought though to me going down 3-4 times a game however.

My mind couldn't keep track half way through the third paragraph of post two so I just skimmed the rest. What caught my eye was how you said the Gold felt like Silver. It's happened to me once. Easiest Gold match ever. I can't remember how and which map but... yea.
Thumbs up?

Played a "legit" platinum match with an N7 72 (Human Adept), along with two other randoms. He did well and it was an extraction. Only found out after the match was over and saw him in the lobby (he came in at second wave). I've never judged based on N7 and this is just one of the guys that proved me right.

I was like Holy S***!!!

Then I re-read it.

What OP says is true. A Lot of people complain about pugs, so when I am just now starting in gold difficulty on 360 when I have a crappy match I just get ignored or get a red vote-kick arrow instead of helping me out. I have my mic on all the time while in gold and at least try to listen or talk a bit. For every dear PUG thread you feel the urge to post, instead try to help one of us that are still working our way up the difficulty food chain! =D

THIS! I am now N7 3000 and I am finding out what you mean by this. I just unlocked the Valkrie not to long ago and decided to use her for the first time yesterday. Keep in mind, I had never used Annihalation field. It took me two silver matches to finally become proficient with its use. I was downed soooooo many times in the process. My team probably thought I really was terrible too. Not the case now thankfully as I can top the scoreboard on silver fairly easily while still supporting my team and completing objectives. Hoping to try on gold soletime soon. More practice is most definitely in order. All I have to say is, Adrenaline Module. Image IPB
