-katana in a space sci-fi fight as if we were playing pop ****** games
-His helmet. it's stupid. it's %$%^ing stupid
-He is assuming Ninja stances
-That letter does not fit nor him nor ME universe
-He is trying So much to be a badass he looks like a bully in elementary school
It is NO accident that almost noone likes him but many people like TIM(Pre Me3) writing and Saren.

In my view the dragon age team gets it better. a lot. Mass effect was great in the beggining but then came all that CRAP that is called popularity, advertising , make it appealing to KIDS who almost never take notice of the story (this is reasonable as they want pewpewpew and teabgging action) andDarth_Trethon wrote...
Pretty much, Kai Leng and the original ending are the result of years upon years of BioWare growing increasingly lazy when it comes to storytelling. First they started eliminating player choice in favor of pretending to give players choices, then their stories started to get worse and worse until they realized they wouldn't be able to keep pretending they care about writing decent plots and giving players real choices for much longer so they started going for the multiplayer audience and just threw the story and pretense of choice out the window altogether with on-rails autodialogue and very poor story-writing as indicated by cereal-eating Kai-Leng and the ending. All I expect out of ME4 is a 3 hour SP campaign with zero choice and no meaning as full focus shifts to BioWare/EA screaming "ME4 iz gr8tst, YAY MULTIPLAYER!!!! YAY SHOOTING!!!!! L00k at Metacritic reviwz tht totally had nuthin to do with EA mony n favorz to c ME4 iz gr8tst eva!! ME4 iz 1337!!! Now with 100% confirmed all-new teabagging minigame!!!"
marketing: The insult to human intelligence, the abomination of buisiness ethics, the production of mass cattling following blindly a product, hence the 70 perfect reviews by the awful professional reviewing community which OBVIOUSLY served EA (i have nothing with EA, it is doind it's job, the reviewers however NO).
I am happy that Dragon age games so far seem to be under that.
DA2 got a backlas but the Dlc afterwards adressed all the problems. They even cancelled DA2 expansion. On a note i like DA2 a lot.

kai leng is just a brute - tim has brains.
brains always make better villians than muscles.
the kai leng "boss fights" were just boring - just like his comments. and because of this it was such a sweet moment to omni-blade him in his guts.

I agree that DA has been doing better and I did enjoy DA2 and its story but the writing is on the wall.....all the copy-pasted levels and shortcuts can be seen plainly. I fear that multiplayer and the kinds of issues that plagued ME3 may not be far behind. So far I still plan to buy Inquisition but I don't know how much to expect out of it. As for ME4 it would take a miracle to convince me to buy it for more than $20 and used after I bought nothing but CEs on release day of the first three.

Maybe not, since he had that energy ranged weapon. I think that was tech.
But giving him some common sense and intelligence couldn't possibly hurt considering all his idiotic grandstanding during ME3.

I did get a bit of this impression in ME3 when it felt like the entire kitchen sink of extended universe characters were thrown in with very little context or explanation.

It's intimidating because it's an unknown factor. Because Shepard has plenty of experience fighting enemies with swords and none with guns. Because an enemies who is able to fight with a sword and survive is going to be good with it.
And as people have doubtless pointed out, soldiers in Mass Effect have barriers that Indiana Jones didn't...

are you saying indiana jones could not shoot trough kai lengs barriers? <_<
and on that note, i believe kai had shields

Indy would just tell Kai Leng there was cereal inside the Ark. No need for guns when your opponent loves him a balanced breakfast so much.

DA2 was rushed. However it tried something new. While it is absolutely acceptable that not everyone liked this direction it was something new. You know i hated da2 but now i love it. I do not think Me3 is a bad game. i will play it sometime for the 3 time it just is dissapointing as shooting STUFF is the least thing i wante d to do.Darth_Trethon wrote...

I wanted to feel like a badass shepard not like some CoD jarhead without any voice or opinion.
I am very exited for dragon age3 and in the forums it is great. Discussions and once ina while David gaider or some other Bioware stuff drops by and we have a talk or two.
Unilke here where NOONE comes to discuss with us abouit some story inquiries or anything regarding ME.
We ll get omega for sure but unless it adresses the problems in a way DA2 Dlc adressed prior to the main game, people will still be dissapointed. Leviathan was good though.

Kai Leng was everything that was annoying about Harbinger in human form. Pops up every once in a while, taunts you about how he's better than you and how you're going to die, isn't that hard in actual combat, only wins when a cutscene starts and Shepard, for some reasons decides the best response is just standing there doing nothing. Difference being, Harbinger and his the Reaper armada are actually intimidating, Kai Leng was just childish and Shepard reacting to him just made me feel like Shep wasn't much better. They drew the wrong conclusion from ME2,what they firgured is we want less Harbinger, what they should have figured out is that we wanted to be able to take our villians more seriously.David7204 wrote...
Kai Leng was pretty effective. The valid complaints are that Shepard was the one who should have done better.

Mass Effect 3 did a way too many things wrong for DLC to cover up or to be in any way excusable.....I don't so much mind the shooting mechanic of gameplay as I do the fact that the game was in essence completely ruined. You can stuff a dead dog to make it look allmost alive but that doesn't resuscitate the dead animal.....that's pretty much where Mass Effect 3 is.....they're trying to stuff a dead dog and even fit a dog immitating simple remote robot inside so it can maybe take a few steps and do a fake bark but it doesn't change the fact that this dog is dead.

I have written on enough teams before to know that replacing a lead writer is usually a sign that your time has come to an end. The end result is something sub par, something that like ME3 can still be good, but only a shadow of what it could have been.

This thread is an accurate summation of my feelings on the matter.
Kai Leng was awful. He was so cliche and so boring, I'd rather deal with a squad full of Jacobs than ever deal with one Kai Leng or Kai Leng-type character ever again.
After Saren, Sovereign and Harbinger, this guy was a complete let down as a villain. Kai Leng is/was nothing but a waste of BioWare's resources, end of story.

Mass Effect 3? Nope. Not even close to a draw on Thessia. Shepard blows through Kai Leng's theoretically super shield, not once but three times, and then the blatant plot-armor kicks in; the fight is about as epic as watching leaves fall off a tree. There's no drama in the following cutscene either. Whomever wrote and scripted that got really, really lazy or really really pressed for time. Or both.

Kai Leng is the reason to Love ME3.
-Katanas in a space sci-fi fight is always good thing.
-Kai Leng's helmet is cool
-His Ninjutsu is good
-It fits him a great deal
-It is overall failure of ME3 made him lame
-Any cerberus plots for ME3 is meant please the Anti Cerberus Paragon ME Fans. For they like shooting Cerberus.
-There is nothing wrong with a Space Ninjas like Kai Leng, Cerberus Phantoms, N7 Slayers and N7 Shadows.
-When in Doubt, Mass Fields Solves everything.

as in why are you using a katana?
why do you look like you belong in a metal gear knockoff?
why do you have plot armor?
why can't i hurt you when you're standing out in the open taking nova blasts to the face?
why are you such a whiny man-b****?
why are you such a petulant little child?
why are you sending me hilarious (unintentionaly) e-mails that remove whatever kind of menace you're supposed to represent?
why is he presented by other characters, and his cut-scene invincibility as a 'badass' dangerous foe when our interactions with him give the impression of a spoiled, whiny, arrogant (but without cause) and generally annoying character?
