Wow, that's helpful.  How about you express your wishes and others express theirs and Bioware does what they think is best.  Too radical?

Bioware will always do what it thinks is best. It just so happens that what bioware thinks is best and what I think is best on these particular issues happen to coincide with each-other. Surely that is not such a bad thing? :kissing:

Ah, what a good day this week, when Sega was able to purchase the Company of Heroes franchise and not EA. Relic sliped away the servitude.
And with that I can be sure, that there will be unlimited mod support in contrast to all future games published by EA.

No more mod kits bioware, please, I beg of you. Just stick to releasing official dlc and let the mod-kits stay lost in the void. Given enough time away from the modkits, the modders will eventually detox and get over it, same with the people that want to play different races. They all just need time away from their addictions.

@lso bumping topics for the sake of bumping them isn't p.c, just start a new one.

@lso can we get a mod to tone down all those 'pleases', the caps lock is offending to the eyes.

Again,

You have no grasp of the passion and hard work people into these mods. You should NOT even mention or discuss this since you obviously have ZERO understanding or empathy for people who enjoy modding.

You made your dislike for PC users quite clear. Please let it go.

And Why am I not suprised considering you are the same person who thought cosplays were purchased at costume stores. :pinched:  Again.....zero empathy or understanding.

And I have news for you, while there likely may NOT be modding for this new game. Other games do support it, and IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY!

Its a shame you can't even appreciate a person's hard work when it comese to these mods.

You trash modders because you don't understand them. You have done this EVERYTIME a post comes up.

How about practicing somce common courtesy and ignore the next post that comes up since you have no understanding about them?

Now that it has been made clear that my opposing opinion is not wanted, very well.

I haven't ever seen a Bioware dev say that modders and those who appreciate their work have a pathological drive that needs to be quashed.  And you haven't, either.  In fact David Gaider has praised and promoted DahliaLynn's machinima work that was inspired by her modding.

If you showed any courtesy or understanding, your opinion would be welcomed. But time and time again you have shown arrogance. disrespect and a lack of understanding to modders whenever these posts come up.

Its obvious you don't understand modding at all.

And you can't grasp the notion that people have passion for these games in different ways.

You act as if people should ONLY enjoy the games the way you like them. And thats not how it works in fandom.

I'd love a mod kit to be included - not that I'd be creating any, I'm not that skilled or creative, but plenty of people are and can create some amazing things.
It would also be a sign that there is something of the old Bioware left. That EA hasn't devoured it completly.

And so very much this,

I honestly can't understand the motivation behind an opinion that only wants to take something away from others.
It's not like modding is gonna hurt this person in anyway, because it was already made clear by Bioware that a toolset is no priority and so it will certainly don't lead to a later release or anything.

I mean, I can kinda understant being sad/ angry/ pissed or envious, because the mods work only on the PC version, but wth, it's not like that is the fault of the modders or the PC gamers who want to use mods.
What miserable kind of a person wants to take something away from others, just because he/she can't have it?

Why not instead take up the fight to make modding possible for consoles. If you can get DLC for consoles, there should also be a way to download and implement mods. So why not take it to Sony or Microsoft?

The "old Bioware" didn't provide toolsets for most of its games. Mod support is not a Bioware tradition, it's something they do occasionally.

Just want to comment on something that's come up during the three months i've ignored this thread: ME3Explorer.

See for yourselves how regardless of how supportive the devs are, modders will always find a way.
Again.
Best to cultivate all this creative energy that acts in SUPPORT of the game, generating additional values from it, rather than to try and contain it no?

While I like the idea of a toolset, it's something only one segment of the population can use and it's no small amount of work. You also usually wind up pulling effort from somewhere else - look at NWN, which was largely built as a toolset and had the campaign suffer as a result.

On another front Bethesda's Elder Scrolls still deal with the same technical issues and clumsiness they've had since Morrowind, presumably because a new engine and a new toolset is either too expensive or too much effort.

If it really comes down to it, I'd rather have a more solid game that's harder to mod over a so-so game with a toolset.

You have time. People would rather have this out and done WELL over being rushed out like DA2 was. Rewrite as much **** as you need to do in order to get a toolset done. I, for one, after the promises made for DA2, see this as a huge way to show you're not just promising out the ass again.

Do it right, or don't do it at all.

I hope the FB2 still allows some basic modding like with Dragon Age 2.

I've still got a good amount of mods for DA2 that improve the game greatly, despite it not having a tool set.

So if there is not toolset for DA3, I hope the engine allows some sort of modding. If BF3 is anything to go by, probably not....

I know that the real money is made with "consolers" they will pay 60$ for a game and not beg for mods or say (it doesn't work with my QuadSLI 690's).

That being said, Baldur's Gate and the like helped make BIOWARE Synonymous with immersion, high value non-redundency of textures, banter, and ROMANCE All of which supported Mods.

Mods are what makes having the extra cost of a PC worthwhile. Google Nexus Mods, and be stunned.

It's cool that the we understand you must spend only the money you need to (IE using the same body movements thru 3 or so versions of Madden), but for those of us who helped Bioware become what it is (Up to DA:O) I mean; shouldn't a token gesture be made to the PC community?

It would be great to see it. A good implementation might mean a larger, longer lived PC gaming community.

Just look at Skyrim. The only reason people are STILL talking about that game is the mod scene. And that drives people to buy the game on PC AND consoles.

It means people will still be talking about DA:I long after most console gamers have moved on to FPS MMO #345, and that word of mouth and built in fan base wil pay off when the next installment of the series comes out.

Re-reading Allan and DG's posts was enlightening.
A lot of issues involved. It would be awesome if they could do something that is workable they would but it sounds like it's just not practical.

I smell... undead about.

Bioware has confirmed that there will be no Mod Tool Kit, however they won't actively hinder modding.
