From my experience, if you don't kick him, he'll leave in waves 1-3 after dying few/many times.

But yes. Remember, low N7 people (less than 120) have to LEARN that Gold/Plat and even Silver is not for them yet.

careful with the N7 profiling. again, some of the best players i've SEEN have N7s around 120. they simply don't promote. you could be kicking out a BAMF...

N7 rating means absolutely nothing.

Almost true but a N7 level under 120 means they haven't all characters at level 20, so either they're new or they don't play a lot, and that's indicative. Of course the equipment loadout should be checked as well.

That's what I meant. Personally I rarely promote my chars, only when I needed to rebuild them or when weekend challenge required that. That was before the last DLC and N7 Mastery challenge.

lol, hell no.
no one did that for "us" ( people playing since march)
he most likely has the internet and is capable of learning some things on his own.

I agree , no one teach me how to play I learn myself , he can learn himself by looking the forum and play more test more

Tbh I never kick anyone unless they're being aggressive. I like playing with new players but if I'm in a platinum match with more than one new player then I will leave and join a new game.

I wouldn't kick anyone these days, because it takes around five years to get people in a lobby while going PUG. Not that I care much anyway.

It seems a lot of gold/platinum players don't realise playing games isn't about TheWin™.

In fact playing is about fun.
Carrying a moron that dies more times than the number of waves is not fun at all.
Maybe for someone it is, but I could probably say it's not for the majority of the players.

Only an idiot feels fun if he revive more than he kill, maybe bioware open a new class call medic who only revive teamate <3

I'll play with anyone on gold, though people with an N7 level 20 and under who joins a gold lobby will almost invariably quit about two minutes into the match after bleeding out. But in general, I agree that gold is usually a good environment for newer players to learn and make the credits needed to get better equipment. Granted, if there's not at least one other player with decent loadout who seems to know what he or she is doing in the lobby, I usually back out instead of vote kick.

But platinum? No. It's too much of a slog trying to play platinum with an inexperienced team.

Three competent players can almost always bring a new-to-gold player along and have a successful match. The main question is: what does anyone get out of doing this?

To my mind bringing someone who doesn't have even their first character leveled up (N7 1-10) is practically hazing them at the start of their ME3 multiplayer tenure. They, likely, are ignorant of the fact that they need to change the difficulty setting from 'any.' I still don't kick them, rather I explain to them that they need to play bronze for a while to get familiar with the game.

I will bring along a newbie if they are leveled up (level 18-20) and show that they are somewhat familiar with the game mechanics based on their loadout. I don't babysit them, most of the times I'm half way across the map. It's their responsibility to stay alive and maybe even contribute. I only make sure that they are never the ones put into the position of clutching a round. A lot of them aren't too bad actually. They're seldom high-scorers but they make mistakes at about the same rate as most 'experienced' randoms. In this case, I think they can actually learn something about playing Gold from being in the match.

Wrong. When I was N7 8 , level 8 I had an avenger I with no mods , no ammo consumables and 1 missile. So I wasn't looking for gold/plat games. Know your place...

If I'm host I can tell when somebody isn't going to do well and kick them. That's only the players that would probably struggle on bronze though. Best for them to stay at a difficulty they're comfortable with and learn the game rather than leech from people and not learn anything. However, if I join a game and the host is a noob I slap on all level 4 consumables. Half the time the noob host will just rage quit and I don't lose any consumables that match. Noob teammate = kick, noob host = stay

I don't have many friends who play ME, and even fewer that play the multiplayer, so most of my games are with randoms. I attempt to talk to people on gold/plat games and try to get some tactics going. It normally works out actually, people are oddly receptive to orders hah.

Played some gold games the other day with some people that clearly were in a difficulty above their heads. I had a feeling they would be when I saw their N7 number (less than 100, otherwise it's something I barely pay attention to), and their gear.. or lack thereof. So, I switched to a character I'd better be able to carry them with, and we didn't fail a single match. One or two had mics and I was able to impart some helpful knowledge in the process. We all got credits, we all got XP, and they became better players, I think. Win win.

Sorry but a noob with a predator and no mods isn't going to learn much from platinum. You're better off lowering the difficulty and teaching if you want to teach.

I play to have fun and I'm sorry if my idea of fun isn't hand holding for 30 minutes on a mission that is likely to fail.

If you end up having to solo more than 1 wave, especially the later waves if people die early on you can easily double the length of the game. It means 10+ minutes of everyone watching you kite the enemies around the board as you whittle them down.

Also, if your team is bad enough, certain objectives simply become impossible. Have you ever been the last one alive trying to complete a group hack? How about trying to escort a drone? It moves so slow you simply do not have a chance. These are amongst the most frustrating experiences ME3 MP has to offer. You are doomed to failure. A slow, time wasting failure.

I dunno. I've been playing since March, and I STILL have much more to learn. But I've played enough Silver & Gold to know that there are certain kits & loadouts with which I'm much more effective on those difficulties, and I never would have figured that out if I were kicked out of every lobby I tried to join. That being said, I never tried to take anything less than a level 19 character in Gold, and I always max out my equipment and consumables before joining a Gold lobby. I guess it does come down to knowing "your place", for lack of a better term. But I don't think I'd actually kick anyone for it. Who knows... you may stumble upon some good team chemistry. Maybe they use their missiles effectively, or have a squad revive gear.

tl;dr... Gold iz harrd.
