Hello, I am building a module and have been looking for CC to build new areas, like RWS's Deep Enviroments and the sort. I am downloading various tile sets, placeables, heads and stuff. My question is. How am I supposed to install them so they show up all. What's u with the 2da files and the TLK files. Am I supposed to merge files? Do I Use the override folder alone? How does it work...for dummies. Will the players get the haks just by downloading them or should I provide some file...I'm at a loss here...
Thanks in advance.

dunno if there's already a 2da-masterfile around, but usually every downloaded content comes with his own 2da. the best is to sort the files out first and check which files would override each other. the 2da have to be merged manually - i know that someone developed a little program which does merging automatically, but i never used it myself and i can't say for certain that it was even finished.

to install those files you only have to drop them in your override folder. there you can use sub-folders for better organization. at least if those are the raw files. haks have to be placed within the hak folder and added to your module manually - they don't work globally.

personally i don't like to use haks because there's no real control over what was included. i unzip them with nwn2packer, drop the files into the override and merge them manually. before module release you can create your own module specific hak which can be downloaded.

Thank you Semper! That was really useful, now what about the TLK files? What are they for?

within the tlk-file all the words of nwn2 are stored as strings. these strings are referenced through a unique id which is then called by the game at runtime. every language has its own tlk shipped with the game. it's used as a quick and efficient way to translate all the text.

if you replace the original tlk with the one from a mod, your in-game language will be replaced with the new one, if they're different.
