would be interesting to see if he shows up in DA3...he was the farmer that was given a reprieve...or at least that was one of the choices if i recall correctly...i beleive the epiloque....said something about him becoming a hero and creating an order of knightsa that lasted 1000 years

No offence to the OP, but can anybody explain this obsession with every minor character that people think should keep reappearing?

Happened when ME3 was coming out, is going to happen when DA3 is coming out.

Hm, I don't really have a opinion on Alec per se, but it would be fun if Bioware pulled out a unforseen cameo like him or that bearded dud in Denerim who wants to duel you.

i beg to differ, a generic sheep herder does not make for a compelling protagonist companion, i don't care what the end credits to awakening said otherwise, when your daily choices of the day varry between "should i shave the sheep or finaly marry it? it doesn't add up to "oh my godz you guys! super interesting character right here!" :P

Valora (the mousy looking elf Soris was engaged to,) should also get a cameo. I also want to see the Hungry Bandit and the Grumpy Bandit from that one random encounter. They were awesome.

People care about minor characters because of the potentional of what they could be for example merrill was a minor character in daelish elf origin and isabela was also minor in dao and in da2 they become companions ..

Merril was a very minor character in the beginning, though.

They should do what the elder scolls did with that cat person, he seems to show up in most games can't recall his name

I'd totally forgotten but that could be something really interesting to include. Probably not he himself but maybe one of his top buddy guys

When I read threads like these I go, "Who??".

Merrill was a totally random person to bring back but I hope nobody's holding their breath over some of these obscure people.

We already got 2 random minor, irrelevant characters come back as companions - see, Merrill and Isabela.

Personally, I don't think we need any more of that.

As for the guy mentioned, wasn't one of the other options to kill him? If that's so, please don't waste time on a character who could be dead in certain imports - see, Nathaniel and Zevran.

And in any event, epilogue slides are rumor and hearsay - see, Anders dead in a circle of Darkspawn, Justice never heard from again, Leliana/companion of your choice never leaving the side of the Warden, etc., etc.

I personally hope they use the resources on characters that people would actually care about.

No. I wouldn't mind a reference to the silver order though.

Ma'iq the Liar.  Showed up in every chapter from Morrowind on.  I actually beat him in a race from Anvil to Leyawiin.

Would have been nice if Bioware HAD put in a character like that in DA.

Companion? Never.

A generic sheep herder, farmer, merchant, street rat, or orphan turning into a compelling leading protagonist of nearly every fantasy novel or rpg? Always...

Well, can't really say yet as we don't know if they're in the third game (since Inquisistion hasn't been released, or any info about recurring characters), but couldn't Sandal/Bodahn be considered Ma'iq's counterparts in this game? Theoretically, that is?

How do you know if you would care about them or not, if they haven't received proper exposure?

Bioware creates the characters, so I trust them to know best who has the most potential.
