Aside from the Lone Wolf banner, all of the banners are just time sinks, no skill involved at all.

Edit - Operator is acceptable too.

none. All banners are easily grind-able and are in no way a symbol of skill. Only a symbol of time dedicated to the game.

But they suuuure are purdy.

No, they aren't an idiot, you can be carried by others to get those done, they mean nothing.  The lone wolf doesn't mean much either because you don't know how they got it(solo'd plat, or gold with what job), and soloing gold on Kroguard is big time easy mode.

Funny how everyone is critcizing banners they probably dont have anyway.   I am 2 games away from nomad banner and have half the platinums done for operator so in your logic I was carried alot I guess.  What next gonna say all people with those banners are just glicthers too?

Nothing, banner is a banner, achievement is a achievement. Tells me that you´ve just been doing that thing a lot with your free time and nothing else. Honestly I just ignore the banners, you have them or not, I get them or not I could not care less. It is not any definition of true skill, instead how you play matters and nothing else.

I HAVE the Lone Wolf banner and I can firmly say it is easy to get.
The only reason I don't have the Nomad banner is because I haven't put the time in to pay specific maps.
N7? Please, any regular promoter would tell you that is an easy thing to do.
Operator can be achieved by doing nothing but N7 Weekends and SILVER games. You don't need any skill for that, just again time.

There are people out there that can Solo Platinum, and those are the ONLY people I would give ANY respect to outright, simply because I know I don't have the patience to spend 2+ hours on a single match.

The banners mean nothing. And people that put value on meaningless trash...well...I'm not going to go there.

I find it funny when people say None. There are at least 2 banners that do require a certain level of skill to achieve.

Lone Wolf: Yes, even soloing Gold with a Kroguard is more then most players can achieve.

Nomad: because you have to have played many. many,waves of Gold to achieve it. Most cannot play gold with consistent results.

No. It only counts the damage you individually do. Unless your version of leaching involves actively killing enemies, this claim is really, really, really, really stupid.

If you play unknown/unknown, it comes easily. The only maps I specifically tried for were goddess and reactor. Everything else was just natural progression, and those two maps only needed 5 games collectively. If you choose the same maps over and over again, then it kind of makes it seem like you only know how to play gold in specific locations, possibly with specific setups.

I read people saying that all the time...but I DO play U/U on whichever difficulty I feel like carrying atm.

I tend to get all White, Glacier, Rio, and Hazard lately though.
I had 7 Rio matches IN A ROW earlier today, just by hosting a U/U/G lobby...it was horrible...

Almost any banner is grindable by a bad player. Lone Wolf requires some skill. Krogard is unkillable by the Geth but you have to use some tactics when doing objectives and have to know a bit about immunity frames and DR mechanics.

The thing is that to get some of the banners by now you should play A LOT or play well.

Some grindable banners are decent indicators at least.

It doesn't take 2 hours to do a Platinum solo.



There will probably even be people saying how poor the above time is, too.

And soloing Platinum isn't a guarantee that you won't have an off day, even if you are usually above average. Or that you won't have problems with latency.

To address the topic, I wish these sorts of threads would die.  Way too much extreme elitism.  But you got to put the bs in BSN somehow I guess.
