Someday, EA needs to explain Work-arounds to Log-In on Help Center & Answer HQ?

I have several browsers I can use.  I hate MS' internet Exploder like crazy.  With my newer PC, I have even more browser choices, but today, it's gone unserviceable.  I'll have to tear into it to find out what's wrong.  Maenwhile, this older PC has been working as a backup, file copy, and printer server machine, for which Windows2000 works better (IMO) than anything else from Microsoft.

On the other PC, I usually start Opera in order to access Answer HQ, because that site refuses to work with Firefox.  I prefer Firefox, and have preferred it since it was first available.  Nothing happens when I click on the "Log In" link if I'm in FireFox (on either of the PCs), no popuup, nothing at all.  With Opera on the newer computer, I haven't had any kind of problem with Answer HQ.

Today, on this older machine, I can get logged in with a couple of my browsers, but I can't actually do anything after that, other than just read the messages.  When I want to answer, there's never any on-screen cursor to type the text in at.  Just plain weird!

What version of Firefox are you using? I'm using version 16 and the login link worked for me.

I'm guessing your best chance for help would be here:
http://answers.ea.co...-p/AnswerHQHelp

They are a separate group from us so I don't know very much about the software they are using.

That link requires an acceptable input source, and the Answer HQ ignored my keyoard's keys when I tried to use their software. There is no newer FireFox for Windows2000 (this backup PC can't run Windows 7, and I don't have a readily available new XP install disk on hand). newer than the 12.0 I'm using now. I've also tried Opera, Sea Monkey, and one other, not including anything of Microsoft's.

I am downloading a new browser (new to me) right now.

This one is called "Doobie", and compared to yesterday, when the site ignored all input to the composition page, now the Answer HQ software ignores the "Post" button, which accomplishes the same thing, keeping me from full use of the site.

Thanks for your suggestion, whether workable or not, the effort is appreciated.

Today, testing the "Sundance" browser, Answer HQ won't display its sign-in popup.  However, one of the "Help" FAQs there gave me an idea.  I've uninstalled the very latest "Opera" browser, and replaced it with one from two years ago, which seems to work, at last.

I'm annoyed enough with Origin, after whatever it is now, 15 years of Bioware that I've followed their games, and getting rid of the Legacy Forums, then offering nothing but the flimsiest of reasons not to repair it / them. So we get a beta replacement that's never been adequately completed, three years later, it's already being dismantled in its own turn.

It's just not at all end-user friendly around EA !   Not any more.

Beginning a couple of days ago, no matter whether it's the older version of the Opera browser, or any other access route, Answers HQ started timing out instead of logging in. What's that all about?  It appears that the stupid EA software is even more brainless than before.  I found a very out of date version of "Sea Monkey" browser, and the Log-in didn't time out nor refuse to recognize keyboard input.

Ooops!  Spoke too soon!  I made another test, and the Log-In timed out again!

There seems to be a lot of new complaining about this situation in regard to Dragon Age add-ons not working:

Compared to any other browser I've tested, the Sea Monkey version that works at AHQ has to be the slowest since IE6. And it doesn't work steadily; it has an efficiency leak, so the longer you have it loaded, and the more you've used it, the slower it gets, until it freezes, and there's no improvement with attempts to make FireFox or Opera work correctly with AHQ.

Today, Answers HQ was crashed by Spammers.

Currently online: 1,732 members 16,420 guests

The most guests ever has been 2,000 or so - today, some 15,000 Spambots are disrupting Answer HQ's service.

AND, when they got it back online, I was back to square one with their software.  ( " Sorry, this service is temporarily unavailable." )  I can't log in!

I can log into EA's regular forums, and Origin as well.  I cannot get past that error message at EA Help Center, or at Answers HQ.

It's some confusion on Origin's part (software) dealing with Windows' Framework!

As of July 9th, the QT-Web browser has been logged out at AHQ, and no Log-in Popup appears to get things going again!
