And I would be freaked out if the lady of the forest was male.
Edit: Though Teagan might be considered a desire demon.

Why is it a male can walk down the street topless but if a woman were to do so it's indecent exposure.

I demand that the women wear nothing but heavy dresses, and all the men are fat, bald and ugly, since it's obviously sexist towards men to portray them in the light that all men are really, really muscled and not all men are good looking like Alistair or Teagan.
Down with sexism!

Then again, Bioware also used a male as the basis for all character animations. I can't imagine how anyone in their right mind could think that would pass for a healthy female.
At least they managed to balance the romances - er, friendships with obligatory sex scenes - to an extent. Give them 10 years and they might finally get it right. Need to stop looking at market data and start using common sense.

hmm. desire demon....tied into the ideas of sirens, succubus etc and the countless other myths revolving around lust, which have almost always been represented by a female like form. In that light I see nothing remotely sexist or disturbing by the desire demon, I see a mythological arch type. there are just as many male demons in the game as well, but I suppose because they are not pantless nobody going to throw a fit about it.
As for the lady of the Forrest: she represents raw nature which has always been a powerful female figure in most cultures, she's a Gaia figure, and nothing more.
I just can't wrap my head around how my own gender has those that just can't get over themselves and try to find " sexism" in anything. To be blunt that phrase has been so abused in the last few decades that most just have totally abused it to the point of forcing it into phrases to express a " personal" dislike of something, without really even attempting to look into it in any other light.

That's because in those days most sailors and fishermen were... men! It is only in the last 75 years or so that women have begun to occupy roles historically held by men. Sure there were exceptions before, but just exceptions.Knal1991 wrote...
though in all honesty most myths and legends depicts women as a tempting luring evil victimizing you on your desires... like sirens....
Nowadays we're supposed to have male and female sirens, and sirens that swing both ways.

... and people still get offended by breasts? Oi...
Not to mention, why would supernatural creatures care about something as silly as modesty?

No offense, I can think of only two creatures in this game that are partially nude, the Lady of the Forest, and the Desire Demons, one represents beauty in its natural form, and the other represents the desires of those who its trying to manipulate, considering you are in a party of largely men, well, what form do you think it would take if it wanted to control your group.
Look through history, nature has always been identified as a feminine form, Dryads, Nymphs, Fairies, Sidhe, all are considered more feminine then masculine, the very essence of nature has always been assumed to be female, Gaia and all that jazz, so having a "Lord of the Forest" would be kind of offputting for many people.
And while they could have put in Incubi for people playing female characters, why? As I mentioned earlier, its just a form they take to try and appeal to your party, in the hopes you will be either corrupted by them, or much more easy to manipulate, and most of your party members are either male, females with partners, females with agendas, or really old females that know more about demons then anyone, so its not like being an Incubi would give them much sway over your group

This is a game, you play it becous you like the story, like movies you like them cous the story apeel to you or have something to say to you. anyway... books, movies and even game are a reflection of the real world. you can't get away from that.
Look at "Transformers 2" there som sexism there to arcordin to some, but that that i whink about are the two twin robots, (the voius acting was doen by some colored men), and Mikel bay did get some heavy critics becous thoes robots. and some even said that it was raisist, but that is an other discustion. i hope you got my piont any how?

I wish that the desire demons were always the opposite sex to that of your character. Well, uh, unless you'd done something in the game to indicate your character swung a different way. Oh, or maybe you'd get to shoot it down, only for it to try changing sex as a tactic.
That'd be pretty cool.
I totally agree.
To the OP: I don´t think it´s sexism to show the desire demon as female, it´s a rather usual symbol... And that a "Lady" of the forest is a lady and not a man is... obvious, isn´t it?
