  Hi! Posted Image

I am working on a project where I am going to make a fully voiced warden mod, that everyone can use.
I am going to create new scenes, and the voice for the warden. The voice is going to be able for ALL female races in game.

I have some questions about HOW do you want the warden to sound? cocky, sweet, mean, experienced?
Would you like the warden to say the answers properly? For example, if it says "I do not wish to talk about it." would you like the warden to say that sentence, or would you like the warden to say it in different words?

Please answer, it will make the mod a lot more better.

First it is a nice project and i respect the work for it.
But HOW do you want the warden to sound? cocky, sweet, mean, experienced?

You MUST read the dialogues to understand is he/she angry now at this time or
friendly, mad, tired ecetera ecetera.

I mean

Warden (male): "Seriously you think im in love with Morrigan?"
Warden (female): "Alistair no, don't do that im begging you"

You must read this dialogues to get the right voice for that line.
Make some test and hear it, if you thinks its ok, then upload some
tests, so we can choose or tell you what need to be fixed. ;)

I wish you good luck and alot of patience ^^

This is a tremendous undertaking, I applaud your efforts! I had thought of doing exactly the same thing but couldn't take it on as a project.

My suggestion is to stay mostly true to the copy and make slight modification in instances where the copy is awkward, and there are many of those instances :)

I think Deaken's point about staying true to the intent of the original response will determine the tone, but if you are looking for a baseline, I would start with a neutral tone.

I'm sure you will have lots of fun doing this. When I had considered doing something similar, I went and bought a nice mic and had a blast.

Have you also considered creating a blog, this would be a fun project to follow!

Also, if I can offer any assistance, please let me know.

Is this mod still being made?

The tricky thing is that people read the lines of dialogue and hear it differently in their head to how someone else might interpret its delivery, so I wouldn't suggest showing lots of people your test lines because you're going to get loads of contradicting feed back.

If it was me doing the voice I'd ask maybe 5 or 6 people to give their honest feedback, preferably people you don't know in real life, who will be honest about your performance. Also, if you find you don't have time to do the protagonist's VO yourself and you need someone else to do it, I'd be happy to audition. Genuine legit Fereldan turnip, right here!

Of course not.

Aw, shame. Hmmm... kind of wish we could, like, get different voices for each voiceset. But that would really hard, borderline impossible. Alas.

If anyone ever does try something like this again, which they probably won't, I'd suggest using voicing two different versions for persuade checks. E.g. succeed in an intimidation and the Warden sounds very scary, fail and the voice sort of stumbles as they try it.
