Evantually you are going to get to a point where you are basically unstoppable.  When that happens you turn up the difficulty.  Happened to me in ME3 but sadly insanity is as hard as it gets, and it is just too easy

ME3 was dumbed down for caster players. They whined that ME2 was excessively hard so Bioware listened and remade the entire gameplay to focus on powers instead of guns while massively nerfing enemy resistance to powers. They ruined ME3.

i noticed that ...
before my first me3 playthrough, i started a fresh shep and played through both me1 and 2 on hardcore (my standard level). the first game was not excessivly hard bur ok .. the 2nd game was challenging - you had to position squadmates and direct abilities personally. then came me3 and i started the game on hardcore ... it was really easy tbh. stupid bombing and lineing up of the same skills every time:
incinerate (with broader radius), singularity - overloead (with additional hit) ---> booooom!! - splatteres an entire group without taking fire in return.

and the gund are almost equel .. it does not matter if your sidearm is a pistol or a smg - in me2, there were differences between the weapon types, that had to be considered (smg against shields - pistol against armor).

too much thermal clips on the floor as well.

me3 was pretty stupid easy. reseting my imported shep to lvl 1 with gibbed helped, but still way too easy i thought.

No way. Fallout 3 is way better.

I really hope this is from a gameplay-exclusive perspective. Even then, FO3 was never very...challenging.

But if we're talking about which ME game had the more genuinely difficult combat, it'd be (to me) ME3. I can breeze through ME2 on Insanity as an infiltrator but start to hit a wall in ME3. Probably because I've never enjoyed using powers.

They cut Veteran and added a new lowest difficulty. Normal was bumped up by default.

No, they cut out Veteren and made the whole game too easy.

This is a very clumsy complaint. It should have been obvious that the Reaper invasion would destroy much of the galaxy right from the beginning. That's a very foolish thing to blame ME 3 for.

It has little to do with physical destruction: it has more to do with the tone they took with the entire universe.  See the sudden emergence of outright pseudoscience, the abbandoning of detail-based explanations, the hollywoodization,

All this happened already with Mass Effect 2...

Well, yes. Where is my full-sealed suits?
But EAWare managed to outdone themselves by numbers of magnitude with ME3. It is just whole other level :wizard:

Women fighting with high heels and catsuit isnt hollywoodization?
In combination with certain "ass shots" and Subject Zero punching Ymir mechs to death(only in cutscenes of course, because biotics and tech sucked big time in this game)?
You are right. Its far worse. Its C-movie level. Mass Effect 2 was just as awfull as Barbarella.

There is a difference between fullfilling certain tropes and hollywoodization.  Do I agree with putting Miranda in high heels? No I don't, but it is not anything to get beat up over.

I'm guessing you are one of those people who thought ME1 was solid gold with diamonds encrusted into it and everything else was a pile of crap.

Depending on what we learn about ME4 this next year, i may not even bother with it. The fastest way they could kill my interest is if it's a prequel.

All i want is another rpg trilogy that takes place years after ME3.

No. Its just that Mass Effect 2 was the pile of crap and basicly Pokemon in Space with Shepard starring as Space Jesus. I had more fun even with Dragon Age 2. Funnily enough, this game handles character interaction far better and has a decent amount of squadbanter compared to the so called "character driven" sequel where the "characters" where just dumb puppets (not even recognizing old friends like Wrex)

I don't either. I wish to god Mass Effect would die.

I see it as Mass Effect 1 = The original Star Wars, Mass Effect 2 = The Empire Strikes Back, and unfortunately we skipped RotJ, and went straight to The Phantom Menace with Mass Effect 3.

I shudder to think what might happen next if we get an Attack of the Clones Mass Effect.

a) ME2 was the most fun of the trilogy.
B) Pokemon in Space would be awesome... well.. it probably wouldn't suck.

As long as its good, lets us choose our own species in single player this time, and as long as there are no more Reapers.. EVER! I'm totally fine with a Mass Effect 4.

this would exclude a sequel - shepard and the reapers have shaped the galaxy for the next 50k years - or longer.

a) For you :wizard:. For me it was slightly above average, because of being spin-off and having [almost] no connection to main story, basically no story at all, and some nonsense like lazarus or terminator, plus no feeling of exploration.

I disagree. Wanna know why? I like playing games. And if ME4 is any good, I'll buy it, and enjoy it. If its not, it doesn't affect me at all.

ME4 will happen regardless of anyone's opinion anyways.

I would be fine with the series coming to a close with the end of Shepard's story (as horrible as it was), but they've already made clear that this isn't going to be the case.

As such, I'll just pass on any future installments.

Go Away hater.

Mass Effect will continue to be a great series. I welcome more and new Mass Effect games and spin offs weather you like it or not because I'm a real fan and enjoy it.

I personally loved Mass Effect and Mass Effect 3, Mass Effect 2 were okay. They improved alot but they should included many old features too.

Literally nowhere in the OP is the word "Reaper" even mentioned.
