OK, I know that this isn't story related, but I haven't seen any topics about the VGAs and figured this was the most relevant place to put it.Image IPB But I'll put it in the multiplayer forums as well to reach the widest possible number of fans.

I'm sure most of you know about the Spike Video Game Awards, which are decided by voting. AND VOTING IS OPEN

This year Mass Effect 3 is up for Game of the Year, and whilst the ending has been controversial I'm sure we can all agree that ME3 is a spectacular game overall. Also, for the first time ever Commander Shepard is up for character of the year, and I think it would be the greatest send off ever if s/he won this category. Speaking of FemShep, Jennifer Hale has been nominated for the best performance by a human female. And whilst the picture they used for the vote button is downright insulting, I'm sure many of you FemShep players out there agree she deserves this award (although I play mostly BroShep)Image IPB. Leviathan is up for best DLC. nuff said. And finally; ME3 is also in the running for Best RPG.

So get your voting socks on and make Shepard proud!

tl;dr - Go here http://www.spike.com...eo-game-awards/ and vote for ME3 in the following categories if you feel it deserves it (if you haven't already)

Game of the Year
Best DLC (Leviathan)
Character of the Year (Shepard)
Best RPG
Best Performance by a Human Female (Jennifer Hale)

Worse ending to a rich and interesting sci-fi series. Is that an option?

To be honest, I love the VGAs. Not because of any imaginary scale of quality, but because I enjoy mocking the criteria upon which they nominate their contenders. That, and they pick the worst, most video game-stupid people to host their shows.

I wonder if Sam Jackson even knows how to spell 'Playstation'

Same here. Funny how Mark Meer didn't get a nom at all.

There is a thread about VGA in general section of ME3 forums.

By the way, I already voted for ME3 in each category where it presents :)

I wish there were better awards ceremonies for this industry (and I most certainly would not vote the game Mass Effect 3 for most of these categories), but Jennifer Hale richly deserves the nod for her performance.

She has been a spectacular Shepard. I wish her the very best of luck.

I remember i actually watched the VGAs 2011 last year. At the beginning they announced the GOTY and Character of the Year. But then after that it was nothing but 40 mins of trailers and bull**** skits. At the time i was wondering where's all the awards in this award ceremony?

But then suddenly, out of nowhere the VGA announcer chick said,

"Here are the winners for the following categories."

and then boom boom boom boom boom, one after the other they just started listing off all the winners for more than half of the catergories. I was like "WTF!?" There was no build up, or people presenting the awards, or anthing.

People, we're talking about an award ceremony, were the awards aren't even the focus of the show. So again, for the 1000000th time this question has been asked. Why do people take this show seriously?

Rather, "why is it called the Video Game awards?" Considering that the actual awards part of the show takes up about 10 minutes of the 50-minute run time.

No Mark Meer, huh?

Totally subjective, but while I liked Mark Meer, he never blew me away.

Hale evoked all that humanity and generosity of spirit that Shepard was capable of feeling, but also nailed the hardass moments where Shepard cut loose.

And as much as I despise the ending, that moment before it all goes to deus-ex-absurdtown, when Shepard is crawling, dying, toward the console, and she is still, fighting through the pain, asking Hackett what he needs her to do...

Damn.

But how about you?  You're more a fan of Meer?

Journey and TWD make the GOTY list, but Borderlands 2, Halo 4, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown don't even get honorary mentions?

yeah man, Jennifer Hale is awesome.  I just think Meer deserves some respect too.  It's like he takes some lines off, but overall hes really solid.  Both are great tho, especially in comparison to some other games.
